Control and Display al affiliation Modification of Car Dashboard Racecar dashboards are generally designed to offer accurateand comprehensive information reading the state of the car at the particular moment. Reasonably, this is meant to reduce the catastrophes that may result as a result of engine failure and other body part problems that may arise in the course of the race. The gauges in the dashboard of a normal car are often enhanced to meet the desired objective of proving relevant, timely and accurate information to the racer especially while driving the car.

Based on the above information, the car dashboard provided will require introduction of new equipment, change of location and the removal of some features present which may not be ultimately necessary to a racecar driver. One of the key modification would be the introduction of additional gauges to monitor other aspects of the car’s variables. Racecars often have a minimum of five gauges; two to motor the level of oil, one to monitor water and lastly for determining fuel consumption. This is in addition to the speed gauge that takes center stage of the dashboard.

This addition is in line with the principle of moving part based on divided attention considering that the gauges are most useful when the driver is driving. The displayed information from the five mentioned gauges provides the racecar driver with updated information regarding the level of the multiple variables present in the racecar. Another modification to the above standard dashboard is the addition of signal lights above each of the gauges mentioned above. This is to ensure that the driver is timely informed in the event that the variables represented attain dangerous levels.

The signal lights are small light bulbs with different colors located above each gauge and light up when the variables reduced to extreme low levels. Blight coloring is used for easier recognition and distinction by the driver as to which aspect requires attention. The signal lights can be further modified to represent the different stages in the consumption of the state variables. This is to ensure redundancy gain and is also conform to the principle of predictive aiding whereby the racer is aware of the current situation and can effectively predict the expected levels in the course of the track.

The third modification is the addition of a GPS tracker to allow the racer know at which point of the race track they are in as well as that of their competitors. The course of the track including turns and orientation are also accounted for in the tracker. This is highly significant in determining the racers judgment in respect to the competition. One such example is that location helps the racer know when to use the speed boosters if present in the vehicle. Another additional feature that is to be added to the dashboard is a short clock timer that is very useful for racers in gauging their progress while in the race.

Other modifications that need to be added on the dashboard may include cameras that are used by the racers to back up and jacks for mp3 devices that are used for communication with the team while in the race. All the above features can be summed up by the principle of multiple resources and are meant to ensure efficiency and safety for the driver and the co-driver preset. In conclusion, the dashboard may also be moved from the traditional location to the windscreen for easier viewing and monitoring of the equipment present in the dashboard.

The cameras installed follow the principle of pictorial realism as they are meant to provide a clearer view of the objects behind the car which may alternatively be limited by solely using side mirrors. All the above modifications are meant to enhance display is directly corresponds with control of the race car hence ensuring safety and competitive advantage during races.
