Responsivity Principle: This principle maximizes the ability of an offender to learn from interventions aimed at rehabilitating them. This is through the provision of cognitive behavioral treatment programs, and tailoring the intervention program to the abilities, motivation, strengths, and learning style of the offender.

The GLM model has the following features;The good life model advocates for practical reasoning during while conducting therapy for an offender. The main component of this model is giving an assessment of what constitutes a good life, and means of achieving it. This model helps an offender to re-evaluate their lives, and reassess their goals (Gorden and Buchanan, 2013). This model also helps offenders to find out how they can reassess their goals in life, hence positively contributing to the growth of the country.

The main idea that governs this principle is the fact that offenders are human beings, and it is possible to rehabilitate them. These two psychological models are effective in the rehabilitation of offenders. This is mainly because the RNR models focuses on managing risks. This has an impact of reducing the risks associated with an offender committing a crime. On the other hand, the GLM model is effective in promoting good lives, and this is by insisting on living a moral and upright life (Shimada and Arai, 2012).

Furthermore these models promote a pre-social approach in treating people. Through this action, they provide an avenue of understanding the reasons as to why an offender would commit a crime.The GLM model is effective in promoting the welfare of an offender, as opposed to the RNR model. This is because the GLM model advocates for the reassessment of the lives of offenders, for purposes of determining how best to live their lives. On the other hand, the RNR model advocates for the punishment of the offenders, to prevent them from repeating the mistake again.

When choosing between these two models, it is therefore important for forensic professionals to consider which model is effective in preventing crime, and the model that also carters for the welfare of the offenders (Shimada and Arai, 2012). Crime prevention is an important aspect within a society, and this is because it helps in maintaining peace and stability.
