Due: 22nd June, Thomas Jefferson became the President of the United s in 1801, and it was a timewhen the state of the country wasn’t admirable by either him, or his follower. Jeffersonian belief was the government shouldn’t have all the power, and the states should be able to make decisions for them. Jefferson’s vision was to change the country in a way, that it becomes successful. Jefferson and his followers placed great importance on free education and education for females, however, the system of education was privatized, which kept the common child from receiving education and his vision was not implemented effectively (Onuf).

The policy of westward expansion for the purpose of new farm land and integration of Indians, into the society of America, didn’t work as well. Jeffersonian vision destroyed their culture, because of his misguided compassion. The economy became better in his time and there was much focus on agriculture, which gave workers a stable income. One of Jeffersonian policy included separating religion from the government; however, the President endorsed the campaign of Handsome Lake, who claimed to be a prophet.

The campaign was about how Indians need to be converted to another religion, or else they would suffer from sickness and flood (Martin). When one of the policies of the President was not linking the government and religion, then this would be against one of his policies. The two main causes of the 1812 war, was to protect the rights of sailors, who sailed on the high seas and the second reason was to protect the ships of America. The people who were against the war were the senators and maritime state representatives of New England.

The congressmen, who were also known as the War Hawks, declared their support for the war and insisted Jeffersonian to protect the country’s honor (Taylor).Works citedMartin, John.
