The movie Iron Man 3 gives a comprehensive illustration of mental disorder in relation to modern technology. The movie helps in understanding the effects attributed to development of mental disorder in Tony Stark as the protagonist. As a result, the traumatic experience led to a significant change in the behavior of social life of traumatic Tony Stark (Comer, 2014, p.141-154). The stress experienced in the daily actives lead to stress that need development of appropriate mechanism to correct them. Stress experienced from various negative activities in the past can lead to acute and posttraumatic disorder. Symptoms of acute and posttraumatic disorder come when an individual is in a dangerous situation and after the situation as well. According to the article, factors attributed to essentially caused stress after occurrence of dangerous activities include, damage of key brain area in childhood experiences or cultural background. Such persons may experience nightmares because of their earlier encounter of dangerous situations. The movie Iron Man 3, clearly illustrates the effects of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder as it adversely affects Tony Stark’s social life after the encounter of traumatic events (Comer, 2014). When an individual experiences a frightful situation, it is natural for them to feel afraid. The fear triggers several changes in the body in preparation to defend it against the danger; this is a healthy response in dangerous situation. On the contrary, in posttraumatic stress disorder the response is different such that persons with the disorder feel stressed and frightened even when they are not in danger (Comer, 2014). Posttraumatic stress disorder can disturb various persons for instance, those who personally experience the traumatic experience, and those who witness it. In addition, it can also disturb persons that facilitated activities during the occurrence of the traumatic events such as law enforcement officers and emergency workers. Traumatic events that can lead to Posttraumatic stress disorder the following, rape, war, natural disaster, terrorist attack, assault and physical abuse (Comer, 2014). Posttraumatic disorder display itself in diverse forms in one’s life leading to significance effects in one’s life. After encountering traumatic events, the symptoms of Posttraumatic disorder are evident for a period longer than one month. The symptoms of the disorder come in diverse ways that are evident in individuals’ physical behavior or psychological attributes (Comer, 20144). The symptoms of the disorder include the following. Flashbacks the individual will feel like the events are happening again, this will lead to nightmares. As a result, such person will try to avoid things that remind them of the events like sleeping, thus suffers from insomnia. The victims of shocking events also experiences loss of interest in some essential aspects of life, Incapability to recall important aspects of the trauma and feeling separated from others and expressively numb. Other significant symptoms include irritability and inability to concentrate (Comer 2014). This disorder interferes with one’s social life leading to a hostile behavioral change. From the article, Tony Stalk displays confrontational behavior unlike before the occurrence of the event. For instance, Tony Stalk easily becomes upset and argues with relatives, he displays violent behaviors when someone reminds him about his traumatic event. The effective treatment methods meant for disorder include drug therapy or psychological (Comer, 2014). Presentation of Posttraumatic disorder by the media is accurate in the movie Iron Man 3 with Tony Stalk as a useful character in the deliberation of information about the disorder for clear understanding to its intended audiences. The movie helps in the understanding of the possible cause of Posttraumatic disorder. For instance, Tony’s Posttraumatic disorder began to develop after the occurrence of the traumatic event in the last episode. After that Tony Stalk, experience various panic attacks. The movie thus shows that, the occurrence of the traumatic event was a significant cause of the disorder in Tony Stalk (Ressler et al, 2011).. The movie is also significant in stipulating various aspects of the disorder, as it is evident in the movie. The movie portrays symptoms associated to the disorder by the action of Tony Stalk. Change in behavioral and physiological aspects is an important indication of Posttraumatic stress disorder (Comer, 2014). Thus, from observation of Tony Stalk’s characters it clearly shows that he is suffering from the disorder, as a victim of an earlier traumatic event. Another change in behavior includes isolation. Tony Stalk does not participate in community activities with other and shows aggressive reaction to kids in the movie when the kid asked about his past traumatic even(Ressler et al, 2011)t. I believe the media is thus important in provision of relevant and adequate information, to enhance effective coexistence of the person with the disorders. The movie illustrates aspects of the disorder such as its symptoms and possible treatment. Tony Stalk displays relevant symptoms of the disorders as a character in the movie. This helps the viewers to understand the disorder through observance of its essential symptoms. The movie is relevant in the current world because of the widespread occurrence of the possible causes of the disorder. Posttraumatic stress disorder come because of the occurrence of traumatic events like, wars, rape natural calamities and terrorist attacks (Comer, 2014). In my opinion, there is a significant increase of these activities in the entire globe victimizing all the persons regardless of age, gender and race (Roberts, e al., 2013). As a result, I believe there are various people experiencing this disorder and are unable to find possible solution (Comer, 2014). The movie, Iron Man 3, is thus important in provision of adequate solution by demonstrating the appropriate treatment to the disorder. According to the movie, the treatment entails major psychological aspects such as psychological debriefing. Apart from the educative role of the movie, I believe it is also essential in entertaining. The media entertains as it appeals to all persons in regards to age and gender. As a result, all the individuals in the society are a target to this particular media.
