Extract of sample "Explain how intelligence is a product of nature and nurture"

The overall aspects of the human behavior are affected by both the nature as well as the nurture. Nature actually refers to the evolutionary factors which have affected our genetics whereas the nurture comprises of the factors which shaped as to who we are since we are born. As such both the nature vs nurture suggests that human psychology is developed by both the nature as well as nurture. One of the key debates in the nature vs nurture is the intelligence because it is one of the most important aspects of our psychology and determines our behavior.

Part of our is defined by our genetics however, it requires nurture to actually develop our intelligence specially since the age of 5. As such, intelligence depends both upon how both nature and nurture interact with each other. For example, some people have the family genetics which make them successful in certain professions such as music. Same also goes for the mathematical as well as verbal intelligence which make them different and distinct from others due to their intelligence which is driven largely by the nature.

Nurture can also have an impact on the intelligence and can contribute greatly as to how we develop as intelligence beings. Access to better education, facilities, food and adequate resources can help individuals to actually improve their intelligence and perform better than others. Similarly, diseases as well as lack of oxygen can have an impact on the intelligence as various diseases can actually have an impact on the brain and resultantly result into decline in the intelligence.
