Examples of such toy sets include the Giant Knob first puzzle set and the Dressing Frames- complete set. Both are common in selected toy stores. The Giant Knob Shape Puzzle is a puzzle game most commonly constructed of wood, but cheaper versions are made of plastic. The set consists of brightly coloured knobbed- geometric shapes designed to fit well in children’s hands. The puzzles are designed to assist children in learning physical and cognitive skills. The 6-dressing frame set consists of standard clothing fasteners such as small buttons, hooks, Velcro, shoe lacing, safety pins and bag clips.
The fabric is usually detachable for washing and comes in bright colours to retain the children’s attention. The twelve-dressing frameset is for older children and consists of a zipper, small buttons, large buttons, safety pins, shoe lacing, snap fasteners, bow tying, hooks and eyes, buckles, shoe lacing that has curves and fabric hook-and-loop and clips. The set increases the number of children in a broader range of dressing fasteners. The children get to learn and appreciate new ways of doing things.
As they graduate from the six-set, they learn that the word widens as one progresses. Strength is defined as the ability of muscles to apply force. Muscular growth in children is significant in ensuring they can perform basic tasks and are at par with others. The Giant Knob's first puzzle set improves the grasping strength of a child’s hand. Speed is the ability to use minimal time to perform a repeated movement. Both groups help the young players increase their speed in performing different operations.
The children learn how to perform basic skills such as fastening clothes. Flexibility is another essential physical skill and is described as the ability to increase the range of motion at a specific body joint. While the two sets of toys do not directly increase flexibility, the increase in speed goes hand in hand with an increase in flexibility and advanced skill, therefore, means increased flexibility. Coordination is combining different patterns of movement into a single distinct action. The Giant Knob's first puzzle set helps the children develop sensitive motor and eye-hand coordination. Agility is the ability to minimize the time used to transition from one movement pattern to a different one. The Dressing Frames- a complete set requires one transit from one operation to another within a limited time, increasing flexibility.
