Along their line of duty, psychologists encounter many situations which enable them to put into practice not only what they learnt as students and the experience they gained during clinical practice.

Furthermore, there are experienced or professional medics who have had a lot of experiences with patients which make them viable sources of medical evidence.Among the unique features of evidence based practice and empirically supported treatment is that this technique is very helpful in determining the best treatment for undocumented diseases or psychological disorders (Levant & Hassan, 2008, p 659). The evidences are documented from clinical reports centered on patients and these results into accurate and precise medical recording.

In addition, the results are found after clinical examinations conducted by prognostic markers and therapeutic rehabilitate making the evidences very reliable. The second unique feature of these types of treatment is that they are ethical since they comprise of a mix of mix of treatments which are centered on culturally accepted norms. Evidence based treatment practices are more often than not supported by the patients since they are conducted in honor of the client’s autonomy and self-determination.

With this principle in mind, I endeavor in using all the available medical books and clinically approved journals that I can access to become a professional psychologist. The impact of evidence based practices and empirically supported treatments have been felt in several medical fields ranging from psychologists, social workers, nursing and allied fields (Western & Bradley, 2005, p 267). This means that there are a lot of medically proven materials and websites that can be educative.

In future, I will also document evidences of patients that I assisted using individual expertise and medical skills. This is a sure step towards improving healthcare especially in psychotherapy which is a complex medical field.
