This article has highlighted four main opinions related to effect on children of incarcerated parents. Firstly it is seen that usually these children are not very successful academically and behaviorally, the aren’t able to concentrate well in academic work and their behavioral personality is highly distorted because of various negative emotions such as shame, guilt and anger. Secondly the incarceration of their parents leads to externalized and internalized behavior of children . Thirdly the consequences are not suffered from parents alone but more by kids on greater extend as well, when children in reaction do worst things they end up repeating the same circle.

Lastly, parenting and attachment styles are very poor in such families. Children aren’t attached to parents and parents because of shame and frustration in mind are not able to focus on family properly. If I see my personal experience to see how much authentic this article is then I can relate it to myself strongly.
