Extract of sample "Want Ads for Women"

In the first ad for women seeking men, the woman identifies herself as a black woman who is very attractive, funny, and has a big heart. The seeker says that she has no problems with anyone who will be of her preference. She also specifies the age bracket of the man she wants (29 to 35 years). She insists that the man had to send his picture to confirm if the man is truly attractive.

In the second ad, the woman seeking a man specifies that she is independent, loves going to the gym, is active, and also loves being outdoors. She also added that she loves to golf, and she would love to go out with a guy who is patient and loves golf. Her ideal man is one who has good values and believes in friendship. She also specifies that she has never been married before and has had no children. This woman does not specify whether she is attractive or is seeking a financially stable man. She also does not mention whether or not she is attractive. She fails to state the age of the spouse that she is looking for (Knox & Schacht, 2002).

In the third ad, the woman specifies that she is in search of a man who can treat her well. She insists that she wants a serious man who knows what he wants in life. She states that she no longer wants a joker because she had previously met men who were not serious. She does not specify whether the man should be financially stable; all that she wants is a serious man who is ready for a relationship. She also mentions that the man should be attractive and have a goal in life. This means that this man has to be financially stable. She does not specify the age of the spouse that she is looking for. She insists that the relationship should start with friendship.

In the fourth, the woman does not mention whether the man should be attractive or not. All that this woman wants is a companion who is honest and that she can spend a good time with. The fifth woman states that she wants a financially stable man with a job. She also states that the man ought to be aged 22-33 and attractive.

5 want ads for men seeking women

The first man states that he wants a woman for marriage. He fails to state whether the woman ought to be attractive. He states the height of the woman that he wants. He does not mention whether or not the woman ought to be financially stable. The second man mentions his age (30 years) and also states that he has a full-time job, which means that he is financially stable. He also mentions that he has a 19-month-old daughter. The third man states that he is a father who has a son and wants a female companion (Knox & Schacht, 2002).  He states that he will host the lady whom he wants. He does not mention whether or not the women should be attractive, or financially stable. He states that he is ready to take care of the woman’s needs.

The fourth man keeps things quite simple because he states that he wants a serious woman who is also honest with him. He does not mention the age or the looks of the woman that he is looking for. However, he states that the woman ought to leave his number and picture, which may mean that he is in for looks. The fifth man states that he wants a woman aged 20 to 30 years. He states that he would take care of the woman and discipline her. This man seems dictatorial because he insists that the woman must remain naked unless he tells her to dress up. He also states that he will order the woman to dress the way he wants. This man seems like a rich man who just wants a slut that he can use as a sex toy.

Comparison of the ads

In the ads for women seeking men, it is quite evident that most of the women want men who are financially stable. The second woman states that she wants an independent man and this means that the man must be financially stable. The third fourth and fifth women also state that they want financially stable men. However, in the ads for men seeking women, it is quite evident that men do not care much about the financial status of women. This is because most men state that they are willing to take care of women. Men ads also prove that most of men prefer attractive men, as opposed to women who merely care about the financial status of their spouses (Knox & Schacht, 2002).  Women are also prone to mention the age of the men that they want while men do not mention the age of the women they are seeking. Most women identify themselves as attractive while men do not. These results are also similar to the textbook.

My ad

I am looking for a beautiful woman, who is outgoing and loves sports. The woman also has to be independent. My own ad also supports the theory in the books concerning gender differences in spouse selection.
