The condition has wrecked havoc in most instances with the causative agent of the condition being at large; hence, crippling any effort to find lasting remedy for the condition. The news contained in the article is therefore important because it reports some of the recent development that has been found about the condition bringing hope that in the near future, the condition can be given a remedy. In the article, it is reported that the condition is necessitated by the abnormal level of a substance referred to as serotonin in the brain of the babies (Breus, 2010). The existence of the condition has been one of the mysteries that surround science since it has been the principle number one contributor in the infant mortality between the ages of 1 month to 1 year. It has to be realized that the condition is very rare, but due to its unconventional knowledge with regard to remedy, children has always succumbed to it making it one of the leading cause of death in the infants with less than a year. In the article, this condition has been found to be of high risk in children with absolute low level of the serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter, when in low levels, controls of essential body functionalities like breathing, heartbeat, and blood pressure are not fully controlled in appropriate standards (Breus, 2010). This condition brings about death to the infants because it impairs the functioning of the basic physiological processes in the body that is essential for life. In this case, when a baby is lying with the stomach facing down, they are incapable of raising their heads to enable them breath fresh air. This is just an example given in the article so that it can be appreciated why the condition is a leading cause of death in the infants. The article then proceeds to give an account of the medicinal part of the condition, it appreciates that there is no scientific test for the condition to confirm its presence or absence. Chances of a child developing the condition can also not be tested for the preventive measures to be put into place. The medicinal test of the condition will also take a span of time to be given since such scientific researches are subject to several tests to guarantee safety and efficacy (Breus, 2010). In this regard, the following preventive measures are proposed in the article for those with infants and they would like to prevent the resultant effect of the condition to practice the following. The parents or the caregivers should always ensure that the babies are held in a fitting position that will ensure there is no turning position for the baby, which may lead to death of the baby as explained in the above paragraph. There should also be avoidance of the crib bumpers for the infants as this can accelerate occurrence of death for infants with the condition, this should also go in tandem with the requirement that proposes that the babies be placed in a position that will allow them to grasp fresh air. That is, sleep on their back and not the stomach as the latter will likely cause death; finally, the use of fan for fresh air is encouraged to be a preventive measure of death in cases of the condition and the child cannot raise the head for fresh air (Breus, 2010). Personal Opinion on the Article’s Issue Following my conceptualization of the article, I find the article informative in the sense that it recognizes the condition as a principle number one cause of death in the infants. It also provides hope for the remedy of the condition by giving a substance whose reduction leads to the manifestation of the condition. In this regard, it brings light to the people that in deed the science is in a constant move to find solution to issues that affect and worries the people and that they are equal to the challenges facing them. The article also gives snapshot information on how to manage the conditions; I find this an important factor as it gives education to the parents and to the caregivers’ basic education on how to cushion their children from the consequences of the condition. According to the issue, I have realized that several issues face the infants and that their parents and caregivers are supposed to be given occasional education on some of the several challenges that present themselves to the children so that they can observe precautionary measures and halt what can be avoided. It is true then that most children can suffer from certain conditions that we are not aware about and finally succumb to our surprise. Therefore, much education is necessary to the situation so that in depth information can be given to the relevant parties so that they can act appropriately on time. Comparison of the Article and the Books Version on the Same Account In the article and the book that refer to the same topic, there are several grounds that they have stricken resonance. All the materials do appreciate the condition is allied to the infants and remains one of the main death causative agents among the infants. There is also resonance on grounds that there is no medical attention for the condition.
