Cognitive psychology Cognitive psychology is one very imperative field in the research and the understanding of various sectors in studying and the school system. This is from the fact that students need to understand the various subjects offered in the system through this method. In the full comprehension of this, there is the application of various methods of resolution of problems experienced in the learning of students. In school, there is the saving of various studied concepts through either short-term memory, long-term memory or the working memory. There is the use of two very distinctive methods of resolution of the problems involved in the saving of this information. One of the manners through which the problems are resolved is through metacognition. This is from the manner through which an individual focuses on the various personal weaknesses that he may bear in an effort to understand the most effective way of dealing with the issue. There is also the use of mnemonic means to resolve the problems. This is by enhancing the memory of an individual by comparison of the contemporary problematic issues and comparing it with previously studied information in the hope of finding a link between the two and subsequently resolving the issue (Chambers 47). I find it very influential that the various issues involved with psychology get the amount of attention that they deserve. In the working memory, the understanding of the mind is in a manner that the information is retained in a form that it is not physically accessible. This type of memory is in a form that the tasks carried out are the verbal ones. The various issues involved with the working memory are that the student lacks the ability to grasp the information taught in class in a rather speedy manner. The information passes through from the teacher to the students and at times the students may lack the ability to comprehend the information. The resolution of this problem involves the use of metacognition where the student has the ability to sit down in class and ensure that utmost attention is paid to the current topic that the student is teaching and for the utmost understanding. Another resolution for this problem is through mnemonic means, through this, the student has the ability to understand the various topics taught in class by review and viewing of the information from a common perspective. By this, the student looks at the information under review in class and ensures that he bares the previous information on the same topic. This is very important in that the student gets a familiar look and understanding of the situation and the issue seems less to understand in magnitude form. Mnemonic means are the best to use in that common witnessing of the various advanced situations is rather simple and less strenuous and tiring. Another different kind of problem observed is the short-term memory. This is the memory that is rather observed in situations that the student has to take an examination or a similar activity. For the best usage of this kind of memory, the major factor to observe is speed. Short-term memory is very implemental. Many people have the various problems in understanding the difference between the working memory and the short-term memory. This is from the fact that they seem to rhyme in meaning. However, the difference is that information retained in the short-term memory has the ability to be provided upon need as opposed to the working memory. Short-term memory assists in the resolution of problematic questions in that the various questions provided in the essays can get a resolution in that the student faster passes them on. For a person or a student who suffers from short-term memory loss, the resolution of these problems is very hard because one cannot have the ability to go through all the questions. This one issue has lead to students failing in class (Kellogg 56). Just as in the previously stated problems, short-term memory issues can be solved through the two major ways. Mnemonic strategies chips in majorly in that the student has the ability to look at the questions provided and do his best to ensure that he relates the various concepts taught in class or rather the previous questions and essays on the topic and apply them in the resolution of the problems. This is very implemental in that many of the questions come from topics studied in the classroom environment and the usage of these assists in the clearing of the issues and moving on to the next question in a speedy manner for utmost results. The usage of metacognition is also very important in the dealing of these issues. This is from the fact that the person is able to understand his own self in a deep manner and get the amount of attention required to complete the questions in time. When a person sets into the classroom environment, the psychological aspect of the brain automatically switches to a manner that the student has the ability to pay full attention to the questions provided. However, there are the various times that the brain may wonder and the student gets a hard time understanding or paying attention. This case is resolved by the student incorporating metacognition in that he has the ability to carry out self-assessment. The next problem involved when dealing with the student learning techniques is long-term memory loss. This is the type of memory that is involved with the remembrance of long-term information that may be very farfetched and not the recent ones. This type of memory is very important in that it assists in the understanding and general comprehension of the reason why students fail in the main examinations and in future endeavors as a whole. Metacognition comes in handy when resolving this problem (Gathercole 175). This is from the fact that the long-term memory is affected by various behaviors that human beings indulge in. The engagement in activities that crowd the brain makes it very hard for an individual to retain certain memory that may be very hard to grasp for the second time in future. Mnemonic means assist in that the reflection of the contemporary issues and those of the past bring in a rather combined resolution of the problem at hand. The use of these two means is very important in the resolution of the various memory problems that students face. Various psychologists have approved the methods and the fact that 70% of all the applied cases worked was evident of this. All the school and other learning institutions should present this as one of the best studying strategies for utmost production of the students. Work cited Chambres, Patrick.
