Extract of sample "Should Healthcare Administration Profession Get License"

Healthcare administration is more of a managerial job. The effects of the actions of a healthcare administrator will have an impact on everybody in the organization including the patients. Even though their actions will not make a direct impact on the patients, there will definitely be an impact. Hence, this is a high responsibility job. Therefore, should healthcare administration professionals get a license? According to me, healthcare administration must be viewed as a managerial job equivalent to a managerial position in any other industry.

Healthcare administration degree must be treated equivalent to an MBA degree. Yes, the healthcare industry is dynamic and also sensitive due to its nature. But, healthcare administrators will not make an impact as that of a medical professional like a doctor or a nurse. Hence, a license must not be required to become a healthcare administration professionals. A healthcare professional must have an understanding of the law. Healthcare administrator with a good understanding of the law will not only be able to protect himself but also their employers and even the patients (Gassiot et al., 2010).
