 Occupations The paper deals with introduction and analysis of three different but significant occupations these days namely, International Relations Officer, Vice President of Administration, and a Human Resource Manager. The paper accounts introduction, skills required, working conditions, relative trainings, salaries, and draws conclusion for each of the three professions. International Relations Officer The job of an international relations officer is interesting in several manners. The job responsibilities and duties involve establishing strong and firm relations with international delegates and influenced organizations, developing and maintenance of databases related to the work, and tracking and monitoring of the same activities performed by other organizations. In addition, international relations officer is responsible to design effective strategies, utilize professional insight and knowledge in order to determine effective outputs for the projects yet to be employed (Segal, 2003). A number of organizations require IR officer to assist other departments for concrete development and growth within the organization, effective communication within the organization and outside the boundaries of organization as well, and take responsibility of coordination, development, maintenance and growth of works assigned. The educational requirements for the job of international relation officer demands a bachelor’s/ diploma degree in the related field of international relations or more. Work experience is extremely important and crucial, as the job is very sensitive in nature. Most organizations require at least 5 years of experience of working in a reputed organization (Maxwell, 2005). Fundamental knowledge of business and international relations is very fruitful for this kind of job. Previous records of brilliant work history are extremely effective in getting a job for international relations officer. This job provides a working environment full of effective learning and skilled work experiences. The physical nature of job is mainly the office work accompanied by international traveling at times. The international relations officer come across a number of local as well as international clients, that makes this job some more interesting and valuable. The working are normal as all the other offices, however, in urgent situations or busy days the working hours can extend from the normal value (Damp, 2008). The relationships with office colleagues is of significant importance in this job environment, as the position is all about maintaining effective relationships worldwide and within the organization. Effective planning skills hold the basis for this job, therefore a person willing to get a job as international relation officer has the compulsion to attain certain certification in development and planning. Efficient use of computer and information technology is another plus point to adopt this job as an occupation. Excellent presentation skills are mandatory for this occupation, and so are for effective communication skills. Certifications in time management are also helpful for this occupation (The United States Department of Labor, 2006). The outlook of this occupation is very good. The occupation is highly valuable not only because of its highly learning environment but also because of the fact that job is much more rewarding. This occupation enables an international relations officer to achieve effective intrapersonal skills, ability to value diversity, learn enhanced communication, building efficient tools and techniques for problem solving and troubleshooting, and developing strong sense of networking. It is an ideal job for people who like to socialize more and assists others in their problems (Dupuis, 2000). Vice President of Administration It is a very significant job position in terms of regional and international job perspective. The duties and responsibilities of an international relations officer are diverse in nature. The position involves dealing and direct conducting of administrative matter of the organization; in addition to this, the job requirement also involves dealing with financial transactions and other monetary affairs of any organization (Maxwell, 2005). Moreover, the vice president of any administration is accountable to take hold of all the meeting notices delivered and distributed, the vice president has the job to make sure that every notice and document approaches the valid and entitled recipient. It is also the responsibility of vice president of an administration to keep maintain the books of accounts for the organization and keep a check on day-to-day business transactions. The educational requirement for this job position is a bachelor’s degree in management or business studies. A master’s degree is even more preferable. The educational requirement goes hand in hand with the work experiences. Usually, the vice presidents have at least ten years of experience of working in the same or relevant fields or programs (Yate, 2006). As most of the times, the responsibilities of a vice president extends beyond the limits of borders, the person has to be bilingual in order to coordinate with relevant people and organizations around the world. Skilled use of computer and internet technology is mandatory for this job position. Trainings and seminars relating to the field are very fruitful in terms of career growth. The vice president should have some certified courses in effective communication and leadership skills. The working conditions while doing job as a vice president in an administration are highly productive and fruitful as there is a lot to learn and experience in terms of learning perspective. The physical environment of work mostly includes the office work while sitting at one desk. Traveling is an essential part of this job; the vice president has to be mobile between different regional, internal, international, and external work sites. Working situation is mostly normal but at times becomes stressful as at the end of the year or at the closing of any accounting period. Nature of clients is a vast umbrella, encompassing all the local, regional and international customers. The vice president has to maintain a strong and firm relationship with his colleagues in order to establish a working environment (The United States Department of Labor, 2006). The ability to maintain a balance between social and psychological balance within the environment is highly appreciable. The salary given to the vice president of an administration is very attractive, as it is a high profile job. Moreover, usually the administrations bear all the traveling expenses and other related expenses as medical etc. This involves a complete process of submission of valid and relevant documents in order to avail the facilities provided by the administration. Moreover, the badges are another significant part of being a vice president in any administration; the vice presidents receive the badges as awards for their excellent and brilliant performance (Damp, 2008). The job as mentioned earlier, is a very high profile job that includes a real competitive environment, skillful learning, and implementation of innovative ideas (Farr, 2008). The vice president of an administration is a significant part that keeps the organization moving. Though the job situations gets tough more often and requires considerable time, motivation and endeavors but the overall nature of the job is very rewarding both in monetary and in learning perspectives (Dupuis, 2000). Human Resource Manager The task of a human resource manager is to handle the needs and requirements of employees of any company. The human resource manager is a person behind managing and developing recruitment programs, designing salary compensations and valuations of services, advantages, assessments, promotions, adequate bonuses, and different training setups for the employees. Human resource managers usually look after all these sectors. The job nature is very dynamic, challenging, and chances of career growth are very bright (Farr, 2008). The human resource managers usually have a degree of master in business management or business administration. However, the job itself requires a great amount of work experience extracted from other authentic companies. The human resource managers are very efficient and skilled in order to cope up with their highly demanding and critical nature of job aligning their duties as per the laws of government. There is so much to learn while working as a human resource manager as the job itself is very dynamic and it changes trends every after every small interval. The job is very demanding that can result in late sittings during the excessive workloads while implementing or designing new strategic policies for the employees. The work may or may not involve traveling. Nature of work is highly critical and important as a single careless act can result in ultimate damage to company’s reputation and employees (Snell, 2009). The human resource manager should have brilliant skills and tools in terms of management strategies, planning and deigning budgets, advocating for employees, and development of organization (Yate, 2006). They must have complete background of sound knowledge in areas of human resource management. Certifications in human resource management, business, political sciences, and behavioral psychology are very helpful in order to find a job and grow in this sector. The expected median salary of a human resource manager is about $81,810 per annum (The United States Department of Labor, 2006). The human resource managers are highly paid, due to their extremely demanding and dynamic job. There is a concrete path for career growth in this occupation and human resource managers are the need of every organization, therefore, the jobs are very even in this era of inflation and economic disaster. Moreover, there are different incentives, and bonus packages for the managers making this job a high profile one. In short, the job as a human resource manager is the most challenging, however at the same time it is the most rewarding as well. Human resource managers hold the root of any organization, the managers are an interface between the administration and the employees, and their task is to make and maintain everything smooth between the two categories mentioned above.
