Yemen before 5 years and in 5 years coming Introduction This topic focuses on the current political event of Yemen in recent years and the transformation or changes that is likely to take place after five years. It is relatively considered as the young and developing state of the world in which the rules and regulations of various political parties remain under negotiation. The Arab Spring revealed that the demand for economic and political freedom is likely to spread by themselves, not because of the western nations who advocated these values, but because of desire for freedom among citizens all over the world. This development in Yemen poses threat and problems in maintaining political stability inside the country. Yemen is a poor country where the influential leaders from different parts of the world plays a major role for controlling the scarce and valuable resources of the country like seaports, gas, oil and state revenue generated from various other sources. The writer Worth, focused on the political transition or changes that is necessary to solve the problems associated with positive improvement in the political aspects of Yemen. It is ranked as the country with highest poverty level in the Middle East and it encounters various challenges and issues related to the development challenges including shortages for food and water, corruption, nonexistent provision for social services and high rate of population growth. The continuous conflict between the north and south province of the country has replaced several civilians and landed some of the areas beyond the effective control of the state (Worth). Analysis and Findings The government of many countries extended their positive intervention to Yemen for its growth and development. The concerned country encountered various problems during the previous years; it faced several economic and political issues and challenges. The political instability restricted the growth of the country. The researchers revealed in their paper that it is considered as the poorest country in the Middle East. The country is required to focus on further improvement in its policies and structure for maintaining stability in the economy in future. The parties and the government started focusing on the national interest of the country in order to eradicate poverty and unemployment from the nation. The monetary system of the country should be strengthened as it faced the problem of lack of adequate fund for developing the state. The lack of money in the treasury of the state indicates a sense of pessimism about its future and it is one of the most important drivers of political crisis prevailing in the economy. The system must become inclusive which signifies removing the considerable power and the authority from the present elite. This may appear undesirable for some privileged person. Yemen is required to focus on the development of strong leadership. It requires leaders who are willing and capable of implementing the process of progressive change. The domestic politics faced by the country is considered as the main barrier towards the progress of the nation. The future of Yemen after five years seems to become extensively turbulent. It is observed that the mentioned country is managing its post Arab Spring transition effectively as compared to its neighbors’. The shorter growing season could pose threat of food security and competition in the nation, the shortage of water may create severe problems in the future. UK will provide continuous support and assistance for maintaining peace and harmony in the country with the support of the European Union. The problems faced in the past years should be eradicated for the smooth functioning of the economy in the near future. The Arab Spring signifies long term economic and political reform for creating greater stake in the society. The Gulf States is working with support of the UK government to motivate their effort and encourage the government to play a positive and effective role in the wider region. The initiatives and support extended by the government of various nations will assist the economy of Yemen to prosper in the future. It is difficult to predict the future of Yemen after 5 years since the political and economic condition of the economy are unpredictable. The future of the country will prosper if the government of the country initiates necessary action for eradicating the problems and make necessary arrangements for generating adequate revenue required for smooth functioning of the economy. To encounter the challenges and crisis faced by the concerned country in the recent years, it adopted various strategies to ensure its growth and development in the near future. Yemen was selected among the eight countries to participate in the project of UN millennium. In this project the need assessment of millennium development goals was undertaken to evaluate the financial position and stability of the country. The report emphasized on the fact that the concerned nation requires assistance from external resources for financing the investment programs and projects for sustaining its Gross domestic product growth. The country is focusing on foreign direct investment. Yemen decided to adopt the fast track approach for achieving the millennium development goals through adequate and effective mechanism for overcoming the challenges or the problems faced by the nation. Despite of its rich natural resources and untapped potential in utilizing its resources efficiently and effectively, the country is considered as one of the poorest country of the world. The country has not been able to utilize its resources effectively for generating adequate revenue till the present date. The main reason for its poverty is due to its overlapping humanitarian crisis with population displacement, poverty and hunger. In order to eradicate the problem associated with increasing poverty that prevailed in the country, the president of the concerned country entered into negotiation and partnership with its foreign partners for receiving assistance required for alleviating hunger and poverty. The another main reason for its backwardness is political instability which is faced by the country for several years .Therefore the government focused on maintaining stability in the economy by adopting various peace talks with its partners. Yemen is concentrating on brining political transformation by implementing new constitution. The terrorism related violence and the civil unrest have declined the economic growth of the country. The economic freedom decreased by 0.5% since 2011 due to the decline in the monetary and business freedom. The economy is open to trade but its investment opportunity is very rigid. An underdeveloped financial sector and stringent business regulation prevailing in the country imposes various restrictions for financing and investing in the new ventures or projects. The regulatory efficiency of the economy is required to be more vibrant towards its growth and development in the private sector. Since the country posses adequate resources for starting the business and the capital can be availed from the other countries, but the rigid labor force acts as a constraint for its rapid growth and development. In the coming five years the economy is expected to progress if it implements the strategies effectively and efficiently. The country can achieve its growth if it is capable of eradicating the increasing rate of poverty and hunger and maintaining political and economic stability in the nation. The initiatives taken by the government of the concerned country along with its partners and the government of other countries signify that the concerned country has ample opportunities for its growth and development in future. The assistance received by the country in the recent years will help the country in increasing its GDP and revenue. Conclusion The initiative taken by the UK government for entering into partnership with Arab led to the resolution of conflict and stimulated political and economic development across the region. The fund provided by the UK government facilitated in development of the stronger civil society, media, judiciaries and civil society. The Arab Partnership economic facility supports the reforms boosting economic growth and creating accountable and effective institutions. The country encountered a problem of shortage of funds; therefore it borrowed funds from other countries. The government of the concerned country is required to initiate various sources for generating adequate revenue in the economy. The political instability, unemployment and poverty related problems are required to be eradicated by the government for smooth operation of the economy. Yemen faced severe crisis in the past, therefore by implement precautionary measures the economy can progress in future. The initiatives taken by the UK and Arab government signifies that the economy of the concerned country is likely to prosper in the near future. Works Cited Engel, Andrew.
