There was an evident hand of the American government in the creation of the state of Israel which was imposed right into the Middle East region which was said to be the home of the Jews. Since the rebellion from the gulf region on the creation of Israel, there have been a number of incidences that have reflected anti-Americanism in the region. The relationship between the two turned from bad to worst during the gulf war and the subsequent September 11 attack. What followed was clear evidence that the attack has been perpetrated by terrorist from Middle East. The US then declared the war on terror and the there were series of attack on Afghanistan to drive away the Taliban's who had occupied the region. Apparently this worsened the anti American sentiments coming from the Middle East region. The war on terror was then taken to Iraq in a bid to topple over the Sadam dictatorial regime and plant it with a democratic regime. This saw a deteriorating relationship between the two nations.
But the war on terror was not only fought in Afghanistan alone. There were various operations in the world including in Somalia, Sudan, the

Middle East region, and on the American soil that was aimed at eliminating the terrorists in the world. However there was one difficulty that was being faced by the US government and it allies on the war on terror. There was no nation that could host the terror suspects and therefore the Guatanamo bay was opened. Guatanamo has been used as a centre for interrogation of terror suspects arrested in the world. Apparently most of the suspects how have been taken to the Guatanamo by are Muslims largely from the Middle East region who have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism activities. There are many suspect how have passed through torture in Guatanamo Bay in the name of being interrogated for involvement in terrorists activities. (Carrel, 2006)
Apparently the issue of Guatanamo bay has been a thorny one in the already deteriorating relationship between the US and the Middle East region. There has been a wave of comments that have been made by many leaders from the Middle East region on the purported reason for creation of the Guatanamo bay as being to contain the freedom of the Middle East activists. The Middle East region has been claiming that the facility was opened with an aim of torturing people from the region. This has been supported by the fact that most of the people who are being held in the facility or who have passed through the facility have been from the Middle East region. (Williams, 2007)
Although the US and its allies have been clearing their name over accusation of human torture and abuse of human rights in the facility, there have been reports by the world bodies like the UN that shows that there has been overstepping of their mandate in the interrogating of the suspects. Most of the suspect how have been held in the facility have not been able to access basic human rights and have been tortured. (The Times, 2008)
The Middle East has been calling the world bodies to force the US to release most of the detainees in the Guantamo bay who are being held for no reason. Some have been held in the facility for more than five years without access to basic human needs. Most of the detainees who have been released from the facility have become radical Islamists who have been organizing suicide attacks on the Americans. This is one of the reasons why the Middle East is calling for the closure of the facility.
Meanwhile the relationship between the two nations continues to deteriorate. The issue of Gutanamo bay has been one of the issues that have been contributing to a bitter relationship between the two and the rise of ant Americanism in the Middle East.
