Extract of sample "Renewable and Nonrenewable Energy Sources"

The alternative, renewable energy sources serve as a great source of energy; however, they also bear challenges in their usage. One serious challenge facing the wind as a form of energy source is its lack of adequate power to turn the turbines. Consequently, this leads to little or no production of usable energy. Solar energy also has its share of challenges. Integrating solar panels within homes has become a challenge; people do not find the urgent need. Another challenge facing the alternative, renewable energy sources is that the cost of fossil fuels is cheap, in America. This makes it difficult for renewable energies to penetrate the energy market.

Geothermal energy forms another renewable energy source, which originates within the earth’s crust. The geothermal energy undergoes conversion into usable energy within plants constructed for this purpose. It is also noteworthy that coal, oil and natural gases from nonrenewable energy resources. As time passes, these resources are on a constant depletion. The common challenge experienced by the nonrenewable energy resources is the difficulty in controlling their depletion. It is a challenge, as man has no way of replacing the used resources. In the management of nonrenewable energy sources, man is finding it difficult to find and use an alternative energy source that matches the amount of energy they provide. Additionally, most of the nonrenewable energy sources cause environmental pollution, making their management a difficult task. Read More

Water and Energy Versus The Ideal US Population

... appetite for meat is razing forests at an accelerating rate. In Central America, 40 percent of all the rainforests have been cleared or burned down in the last 40 years, mostly for cattle pasture. In the process, natural ecosystems where a variety of plant and animal species thrive are destroyed and replaced with monoculture grass. It takes far more fossil-fuel energy to produce and transport meat than to deliver equivalent amounts of protein from plant sources. This heavy use of carbon-rich fuels also contributes significantly to the emissions of global-warming gases. The US Department of Commerce reports that in the U.S., 56 million acres of land produce hay for livestock. While only 4 million acres produce vegetables for human...

Use of Batteries as Power Sources

Plus key issues exacting to a low-side Li-ion protector circuit are converse. The transients shaped when the Li-ion protector opens throughout a brief short or when the battery is unplugged even as beneath load may exceed the voltage rating of semiconductors in the battery set. This theme describes a number of plan issues and suggests solutions to make your mind up or get better them. The resolution of these subjects requires attention to together the circuit design and the printed circuit board (PCB) explains.

If we analyzed the Fig. 1 then we come to know that it is a block drawing of circuitry in a typical Li-ion battery set. It demonstrates an instance of a security protection circuit for the Li-ion cells and a gas...

Renewable Sources of Energy in the Green Computing

With most of the corporate these days giving due consideration to their energy bills, green computing has found its place in the priority list for most of the CEOs. Apart from this, another important reason for the application of green computing goes to the increased carbon emission that the world is facing due to a surge in the consumption of non-renewable sources of energy.

Green computing is the latest buzz in the world of computing in order to protect the globe from the lethal attack of global warming. We first have a look at the phenomenon of global warming. Global warming is a dramatic and unexpected surge in the temperature of the earth, which is a common abode for many different species and not just human beings...

European Communities Act 1972 and European Sources of Law

Since the 17th century, legislation has given rise to most of the new laws. Acts of Parliament constitute primary legislation, and they are of greatest significance. These acts become valid, after being approved in both the houses of Parliament and thereafter receiving Royal Assent. Government ministers introduce legislation, based on primary legislation, which does not require Parliament’s approval. This constitutes secondary or delegated legislation and is issued as statutory instruments3.

The European Union was founded on the Treaties, which constitute primary sources of European law. The chief amongst these is the Treaty of Rome 1957, the Single European Act 1986, and the Treaty on European Union 1992. The 199...

Energy Expenditure During Walking and Jogging

Although walking is frequently dismissed as too easy or not difficult enough by fitness experts, the exercise itself bestows just as much benefit to the exerciser as jogging or running, with less of the jarring effects of more intense locomotion. This leads to a dramatically lower dropout rate of participants, meaning staying motivated is simpler on a walking regimen. Jogging, in contrast, requires additional effort without statistically significant improvements in time used in the workout, which leads to questions of whether walking or jogging is the more beneficial activity given the same resources. Based on the evidence that negates claims of an advantage for jogging, and evidence that jogging can lead to damage of body structu...

The Impact of Renewable and Non-renewable Energy Sources on Earth

...The Impact of Renewable and Non-renewable Energy Sources on Our Earth... How Does Each One Help or Hinder Our Future? Introduction Energy can be defined as the degree of force which is when applied to certain objects is capable of moving one object from one position to another. There are different forms of energy such as kinetic energy, potential energy, light energy, sound energy, gravitational energy, nuclear energy or any other type of energy that can be easily altered into other forms and hence the total energy is most likely to remain the same. However, energy can be classified into two main groups such as renewable as well as non-renewable energy (The National Academics Press, 2012). Renewable energy can be defined as the energy...

The central HVAC system with filters air cleaner is more efficient the portable than the portable air cleaner device. Introduction Curtis (75) explains that indoor air pollutants are undesirable, sometimes detrimental materials in the air within the house. They range from chemicals to dusts to radon. Indoor air pollution is categorized among the upper five environmental risks to health. Usually, it is best to address this risk is by eliminating or controlling the sources of these pollutants, and ventilating the home with clean air from outdoor. However, the method of ventilation may...

The Importance of Renewable Resource Over Fossil Fuels

...Khaled Almenhali Josh Ballard ESL 1080 10 APR Sustainable Energy Source Renewable energy benefits surpass fossil fuels. Thus, it is emerging as an alternative energy form that is sustainable and addresses energy concerns of the present century. Notably, renewable energy responds to the 21st-century energy concerns in regards to transport, heat, and production processes. Renewable energy is the power that is gathered from the sun, wind, and water. The mentioned natural resources renew or replenish through natural processes (Demirbas 45). Given the sustainability and abundance of the resources, many nation tap the resources to produce wind power, hydroelectric and solar energy. In the same measure, fossil fuels also form a significant...
