Problems of metaphysics Introduction Metaphysics is a philosophical branch which examines true scenario of reality. The reality can be evidenced or not evidenced since. In this case, there are relationships between matter and intelligence, attributes and matter, and, reality and value. Metaphysics is not a religion, but it is associated directly to spirituality. In other words, metaphysics is a philosophical study that deals with human beings and knowing. Kant is said to be the most prominent philosophers in the history of the Western philosophy. High increase in philosophical movement has come in by his contributions to the study of metaphysics, ethics and the study of epistemolology. The article focuses on the metaphysical study which studies changes in human beings and other living organisms, as well as epistemology in his important works. Kant’s work addresses certain questions which are important to human lives. It talks on what people should know, and if it is simply stated, and is the knowledge constrained to natural science and to mathematics in the empirical world. Kant argues that, to extend understanding to the more sensible realm of exploratory metaphysics. The basis that understanding has the stated constraints, he says that the mind of people plays very active roles to constitute the features for experience as well as limiting peoples mind’s to access only the observed realm of space in addition to time. Metaphysics have different meanings since it covers other combination subjects such as philosophical and psychological titles on disciplinary subjects. It is not easy to define the term metaphysics, because it does not only deal with “things that do not change”. Many philosophers for this case argued that there still exists life, hence day by day many things and ideas develop not, forgetting other philosophical issues that are still considered as metaphysical problems. Back in the early twentieth-century, “metaphilosophy,” and “metalanguage” gave hopes to philosophers that metaphysics is, does not only involves the study of physics but it goes beyond all these by studying the lifestyle of human beings and knowing. Kant strongly believes that, Aristotle he had the books that had a clear, and an exact meaning of the word metaphysics, even though, he did not understand the meaning of metaphysics but, only had a rough idea that, metaphysics involves things which do not necessarily change. The fourteen titles of the books of Aristotle books were most likely meant for warning the students of Aristotle’s Philosophy to attempt metaphysics after mastering “the physical ones,” his one book about the nature- that is, about change, and for the change defines the feature of the natural world. Aristotle identifies metaphysics as being what you are and another, as a cause which comes first. The two subject –matters are regarded as defensible statements of metaphysics to the title until the seventeenth century when problems were identified to be of physics as classified by Aristotle. The contribution of Kant to ethics is a substantial work as compared to his other works in metaphysics plus epistemology. For this case Kant is said to be the most prominent person in the study of deontological which is based on ethics in a philosophical history. Kant believes the Aristotle’s that talks about syllogism captures logicality which are employed reasons. Perhaps the wider usage of the term “metaphysics” came from the word “physics” which was the new science and quantitative which led to changes, but would still fly to the present insisting that metaphysics to be subject-matter of Aristotle’s Metaphysics. There are some metaphysicians who still argue that there still exist first causes, while some insist that almost everything changes. Others on the other hand deny that there still exist classes of objects which do not change. Problems of metaphysics Modality is one of the problems of metaphysics which is widely recognized all over the world by philosophers, modality explains fundamental distinctions, which are made, in between classes of the right propositions: the distinction can be seen in terms of one which is a false, and the other in which is not false. Consider an example where the proposition capital city of France is Paris, and there could be a prime in every number which is greater than one, and at the same, it is twice the number. All these arguments are true however, the first may be false, but all in all the latter could be true. Space and time is also a problem in metaphysics. Philosophers saw that time is intimately related to space. One philosopher understood time and space as things which can be explained by single and unified theory, this theory revolves around but may have been used in additional respects. Whatever that can be a source of conviction for philosophers which says that space as well as time is the same members of given species, they all raise the same philosophical questions. All these questions can be asked in different aspects. For example, one can ask if space can extend infinitely to all direction, and whether time can also extend infinitely in two directions temporally. Just as, one can ask if the space is finite and has the “end”, it is the same way one can ask whether time is finite, if so, does it have a beginning or an end or it might lack both. As one asks if there are two extended items which are not related to one another, other questions asked involves whether the two events are not related to another temporally. Finally, in the issue of time as well as space, a person may come up with a question whether there is reality in space and time, and to what extent is the reality. Another problem in metaphysical is the problem of mentality and physicality. If it can be natural to pair space, as well as time then it can also be natural for one to oppose the physical and the mental. The modern theory in which the mental events are significant to the physical event do not show natural tendency in the human mind. It can be said that metaphysics still considers more problems than the one studied in Aristotle Metaphysics, hence there ought to happen that problem will continue to be the subject-matter. Can metaphysics be possible? Many philosophers and metaphysicians are among those people who have presented their arguments on the impossibility of the metaphysics. The theory that explains that metaphysics is not easy may come in the form of weak or strong. According to the strong form, all statements in metaphysical are meaningless and all statements are meaningful on the weak form, but still people cannot discover the truthiness and the falseness of metaphysical statement. Example of weak form is when the human mind has something which unfits it to reach metaphysical conclusions in a reliable way. Other philosophers argued that conclusion in the human mind cannot be capable satisfy treatment of large philosophical questions, although, it depends on factual problems about cognitive capacities of human in principle to empirical refutation, which is current, without significant empirical support (Ross, 291). Conclusions It is therefore, concluded that, metaphysics is simply understood in the aspects that it is a philosophical problem which cannot be assigned logically or ethically to any parts of philosophy that have clear definitions.
