Determines a close relationship with the rationality of human beings in general and depicts that their set and practiced principles are not just for their society but are universal (Gert, 2005, 7). However, there is one big misconception about moral standards as being ethical by ‘ethical-egoist’. Such individuals or group depict their self-interest as moral actions due to their increased self-interest in certain actions. Hence, they persuade others to accept their ‘self-interest’ influenced moral theory (ibid, 9).
Morality is practiced because the otherwise action would be devastating for long-term calamities and the existence of the society. A renowned philosopher Thomas Hobbes’s moral theory establishes the foundation for behavioral implications of an individual, which mainly affect other people present in his surroundings. He describes further that the conducts which are pessimistic for others, but beneficial for the individual cannot be described as moral conducts (ibid, 9). This agency is a governmental institution responsible to accumulate information for the sake of national security. The question that arises here is, how? The information and data required to decode or predict future threats are gathered through global surveillance. This surveillance is beneficial for the USA but is an ethically immoral action of invasion of privacy for other countries. Similarly, if the surveillance and knavery are directed towards its own public then the matter becomes much more intricate to decipher.
The Knavery tricks of spying used against enemies by US intelligence and security agencies are not a new or unknown idea for the world, but the idea of these agencies working with a lack of morality is concerning and threatening. With time and increased threat or assumed threat to US security, the US intelligence policies have become hostile to the security.
