It brings out sheer anger to the viewer enhancing the delivery of a somber mood. The guns are shown held in the hand by one officer at close range.

Print media, including the Los Angeles Times, are quoted with strong statements as a show of outrage and provocation. The convict is not seen shooting at the two FBI agents and the court proceedings are not followed to the latter. This leaves the viewer or the audience to be the judge. Therefore the film maker’s intention is arrived at. However, it’s unethical to influence the viewer’s thinking by focusing on drawing sympathy and pity.
