Name: Course: Tutor: Date: Introduction In the contemporary world, various people have their own different ways which they use to communicate the ideas which they have. Blogging is something that has become of significant influence with regards to the passage of information on the internet. This is a concept that had not hid news until around the year 2009. Before that time most of the activities with regards to blogging was usually done by few individuals, unlike now where most people have engaged in blogging. Some do it for fun while other engage in this activity for the purpose of making money. The purpose of this study is to be able to establish the dynamics which bloggers employ when it comes to passing the content which they do through their blogs (Rosenberg, 2009). There are various blogs out there, each with the purpose of passing information relating with a particular field, say technology or business. This study will be done by examining two blogs which differ with regards to their quality. An analysis will be done with regards to how this content is delivered to the intended audience. The tools and strategies which are used in this case will be highlighted. After all the critical factors have been examined the results will then be brought out and an analysis done before a conclusion can be drawn out. Methodology The case study in this case is in relation to the blogs which are created by people. In as much as there are very many bloggers out there, there is the existence of good bloggers and bad bloggers. A good blog is that which is able to use all the tools regarding web content development for the satisfaction of the intended readers. (Blood, 2000) The first instance with regards to the blogs being examined is to examine what type of blog it is. A blog may be classified as either personal or corporate, it may also be classified by the device which has been used in developing it among other ways. In this case the blogs which are being looked at are both personal but the quality which they possess is what varies. In order to establish the factors that come into play in relation to these blogs the approach taken will be to examine each of them individually. The first one in this case is Freshly Pressed. This is the blog which is considered to be good in this particular case. One of the most notable and commendable things with regards to this blog is the fact that it is more incorporative of the readers. The content which is in the blog is something which almost all the readers can relate to. This is especially highlighted even more by the reader comments that are associated with the blog. At the same time there is the use of photographs to further stress the point which the blogger wants to bring out to the readers. At the same time this particular blog talks about the events which are also making headlines. The best example which has been used in this case was the London Olympics which also featured at around that time. In connection to this particular blog it is also of the essence to examine the reception which it has received from the blogosphere community. There are a total of 994 bloggers who like this particular blog. This is not forgetting the very many comments which are also there. it is worth noting that in this particular blog the approach which has been taken is that of suspense. This leaves the readers wanting to know more about the blog’s content. For example there is the Freshly Pressed’s Best of July 2012. In this connection the major events and happenings at that time are focused on. These may be what the people know and also that which they do not know. The other blog which is of significance in this case is the The Dictionary of Specific Generalities. For starters some elements of this blog do not have any content for the readers. In fact, in one of the posts there were just a few lines, no more than two sentences. This is the first thing which puts people off when checking out the blogs that are in existence. This is so because people have different needs when they visit blogs, the primary one being the quest for information. Upon meeting such a blog they will be turned off at first instance. This particular blog is plain and simple. There is actually nothing captivating in it. This is the main reason why there has been a no views about it. Clearly the approach that has been taken in this case is one which is not centered towards the reader, especially with regards to the presentation of the blog in terms of its design and the content therein. Connections with other platforms is also something which may be very beneficial in further publicizing the blogs (Mutun & Wang, 2010). In the case of the two blogs there are links to social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. These enable the sharing of content which is posted by the bloggers. The advantage of this is that it serves to further publicize the blogs. Results It is of the essence to come up with web content which can easily be accessed by readers and at the same time that which will be captivating to them. There are also other factors which come into play with regards to blogs. An example here is to do with the optimization of the blogs, the layout and design not forgetting the content most importantly. The observation that can be made with regards to these two blogs is that there is a lacking in one of them. One of the most probable reason why the other blog favored badly is because the blogger involved with it does not take much time in ensuring that the content in the blog is up to date and capable of keeping up with the developments that are witnessed. The other blog which favors well has employed all the tools and methods that can be able to direct traffic to it. The titles of the posts therein are especially captivating to the readers and for this reason they can easily attract attention. This blog is also lively and up to date with regards to its content. These are some of the things which especially serve to attract the readers to the blogs. Analysis It should be understood that blogging is an undertaking which requires skills and an investment in time. If the person does not invest these into the blogging then the whole undertaking can just be a flop. These are some of the critical factors which will also act as the success or failure contributors of the blogs. Web traffic is also something which has to be considered when coming up with the blogs. The main idea in this case is to attract as much traffic as possible to the blog. This will have an effect of increase in popularity of the blog and there is financial gain which is associated with this. Some of the things which are employed in the development of blogs are very critical especially when it comes to attracting repeat visitors to the blog. An example in this case is the application of captivating topics. In the case of Freshly Pressed some of the readers are actually reiterating the fact of just how attractive this concept is. As a blogger it is very important to keep tabs with the reception which is by the readers. This is especially because it is these very people that may make or break the blog. The suggestions and proposals which are put forth with regards to the blog are supposed to be implemented in the subsequent posts that are put on the blog. Conclusion Blogging is indeed something which is fun and enjoyable to do. In order to get the most benefit, however, it is of the essence to come up with strategies that will enable the blog to remain in existence and still attract traffic. The content which is posted on blogs is also something which is worth considering. There are some posts which may bring about repercussions on the part of the blogger. In as much as controversy sells the best course of action is to keep away from such. It is worth noting that the two blogs which were under scrutiny have kept as much as possible from this. Along this line of thought it is also worth mentioning the existence of the Bloggers’ Code of Conduct which ought to be adhered to by all bloggers. The purpose of this code of conduct is to ensure that there is a sense of civility in the activities that go on in the blogosphere. In this connection, it is entirely up to the blogger to take charge of whatever content is being exhibited in his or her blog (Saranow, 2007. This will go a long way in keeping the blogger out of legal and moral repercussions. References Aka Marketing Content is king - importance of good content - content is king - page content".
