The volume and pattern of warming that is been recorded, cannot be described by these factors alone. Studies show there are a lot of greenhouse gases (GHGs) emitted by humans that speed up the causes of climate change. This evidence includes glaciers that have melted and retreated dramatically ocean acidification, oceans getting warmer, and wild climates such as hurricanes and typhoons. Driving cars, deforestation of tropical forests, the emissions of gases from fossil fuel power plants, and the increased habit of using chemical fertilizers on agricultural land are some of the great factors that contribute the global warming.

Levels of GHGs have gone up and down but it stays constant for thousands of years. Scientists usually use the term “climate change” instead of global warming because Earth's average temperature rises and ocean heat spread around the globe cools some areas and on the other hand warms others.

Studies also show that the Greenland ice is thinning. Some fear that the melting of the ice sheets in Greenland could dramatically increase the sea levels. Ice also acts as a solar reflector. Less ice means less heat reflects.
From what we understand in the oxygen and carbon dioxide cycle is that the oxygen we breathe comes from plants while humans and animals produce carbon dioxides which plants needed to produce their food. The growing industry for wood and paper products and the use of the forest for fuel, contribute to the mass deforestation around the globe. With less forest and a large volume of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, it contributes to the increasing temperature of the earth.

Typhoon Ketsana is one of the devastating typhoons that hit the Philippines last 2009. Flood water levels reached 6.1 meters. Affected residents were sent to their rooftops for refuge. Typhoon Ketsana killed 246 people in the Philippines and 32 in Vietnam. Typhoon Ketsana has become the focus of marathon discussions of climate change all over the world. Experts say that it is an example of a climate disaster that poor nations, such as the Philippines could face in a warmer world.

Another man-made cause of global warming is the increase in the human population. More people indicate more foods. That means more methane because of more burning of fuel from transportation and power plants. Since more people need more food we have to raise food. Cattle is a good example of food. One source of methane is manure. This means more manure and more methane are produced in the atmosphere.

Global climate debates continue. Some also believe that global warming is a natural cycle and not caused by humans. It is a natural process caused by volcanic eruptions, sun spots, changes in Earth's orbit, or the Earth's changes towards the sun. Whether global warming is man-made or not we can do something about it. Another way to save Earth from climate change is by using automobiles powered by electricity and biofuel. Some experts believed that reducing gas emissions can stop this problem. Other ways of alternative fueling include solar and wind power, where burning fossils control to a minimum.

The need for electricity is rising. To meet the demand, additional power plants are needed. Some believe that the nuclear power plant is the answer to this great demand since it doesn’t directly release carbon dioxide. However, the risk is there as we all know what happened in the accident in Chornobyl in 1986 where over 500,000 workers are affected and an estimated 18 billion rubles crippled the Soviet economy. The risk of using nuclear energy is too high but experts believe that nuclear plant is the technology of the future.
Many people argue about global climate issues. People today must take responsibility for the people of tomorrow, to make sure that there is Earth left to live on. We can save the Earth by conserving energy, and when we start using energy we need to make sure that we use it wisely. No group or company makes money by saving energy.
