Extract of sample "The Reasons to Choose Nursing as a Career"

I feel valued when somebody needs me in his misery. In my childhood, I had always been fascinated with the stories of Florence Nightingale, and the way she served the needy provided me an inspiration to be like her, irrespective of the fact that I was a male. I feel that nursing makes you closer to God, to humankind, and to yourself. Practically speaking, I have studied that the U.S. Department of Labor stated two decades back that there would be a need for more Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s) in the coming years, considering the increase in the number of elderly and the disabled in nursing homes, and I see now that the prediction was accurate.

Since nursing homes can provide patients with high-quality health care services, thus the demand for LPN’s is rising, resulting in good job prospects for nurses, especially in rural areas. These factors, practical and spiritual, made me choose nursing as a career.
