Factual personal experience was the main target in form of the data collected where the interviews intended to collect qualitative as against quantitative data.

Responses were coded along similarity and or differences into categories, which would be analyzed in line with the predefined themes. The analysis, therefore, went through description, interpretation, and the ultimate development of the theme.

Based on the three themes outlined, the results found that many of the management nurses were chosen for the management roles based on clinical expertise as against management expertise.

This study's findings provide very strong support for the need to adopt new approaches to nurse management roles though it lacked the quantitative appeal.

With the study aiming at discussing the arguments projected against EBP and consequently suggesting possible reactions by practitioners, the study focused more on the critics from postmodernist movements.

Though the study is not wholly research in nature, the study adopts a design/method of qualitative analysis where the main arguments by the postmodernist critics are analyzed.

The sampling procedure adopted in the study is study is based on the level of the fierceness of the critics who reason that EBP is detrimental to patients as they are flawed. The study is therefore purely set on available literature and therefore more of a study on literature than a primary study.

The hierarchical approach is adopted to study complexity by nurses.

For the measurement, the study adopts some of the most critical and radical criticisms concerning EBP.

The analysis involves the evaluation of the arguments developed and comparing their validity with the strength of available literature.

The study found that though the study of EBP faces critical limitations in evidence, critical thinking is inherent in supporting professionalism in nursing practice. Professional nursing managers are encouraged not to abandon EBP but to involve critical thinking while embracing it.

This study's findings provide very strong support for the need to have critical thinking while adopting EBP in nursing. Evaluation of literature however would have presented a major challenge through biasness while it has the positive of being more comprehensive in information.

The paper aimed at reporting findings from another study evaluating the factors that influence the development of evidence-based practice as relating to junior as well as senior nurses.

It employed a crossectional survey in England where two hospitals were used and sampled nurses (598, n= 1411) with a sample rate of 42% being achieved in responding to administered questionnaires.

The sampled respondent nurses were gotten from England at two hospitals.

The study evaluated various types of evidence, skills necessary for evidence-based practice, the barriers to realizing the practice as well as the facilitators to the same.

Various factors were measured and the data collected and these were sources of nurse knowledge for their practice, barriers to achievement of evidence-based practice as well as personal rating in capacity to deliver the evidence-based practices.

Means, as well as descriptive characteristics of the data collected, were computed through spss as well as other tools where t-tests were used to evaluate group differences.

In sum, the study found that nurses would rely more on personal experience as well as communication with colleagues than formal sources of knowledge.

These study findings provide very strong support for the need to adopt new approaches to nurses’ management roles, especially with the junior nurses who feel inferior to the seniors. The main weakness in the study was the relatively low response rate of 42% and which would have meant an increased risk of biasness.

The study presents a description of the analysis of the experience of acute-care practicing nurses.

In studying the experience of nurses practicing in acute nursing care, a qualitative descriptive design is adopted. The interview method was used in collecting the data from a sample of about 20 practicing nurses.

The study involves four acute-care hospitals within South East Florida with distinction on for profits and non-profit hospitals. The criteria used for the choice of the hospital were the criteria of having nurses on permanent formal charge.

The study investigated majorly the ‘experience’ of practicing nurses.

The interview involved personal opinions and factual evidence of the experience being a charge nurse and this, therefore, shows that the measurement was not standard though predefined criteria in grouping the responses were used.

Data collected was analyzed through parse’s method where the researcher would get immersed within data transcriptions and reading where coding was done until themes emerge.

There were major themes that emerged in the study which were based on the charge nurse experience within an acute-care setting. The themes established were ‘safety net creation’,  ‘monitoring for quality’, ‘leading’, ‘managing the flow’, ‘completing the puzzle’, ‘making difference’, ‘putting out fires’ as well as ‘keeping the patients jovial and happy’.  

The themes, therefore, show that the charge nurses have a responsibility that is critical in the overall improvement of health care.

Though the study was a success it faced the main challenges of having merely female nurse respondents, which would lead to the question of the experiences of male counterparts. However, it provides very strong support that the experiences of practicing charge nurses are critical in influencing the future of health care in general.
