Nursing I am highly interested in becoming part of the Emory School of Nursing since I am aware of the dire need of nurses worldwide and I would like to become part of those nurses that are needed, trained under your guidance. My concept of nursing is caring and helping with the best of your abilities for the sick and injured patients. I have chosen nursing as a career due to the fact that there are more people becoming sick and injured and it would be a joy to help them in their healthcare needs.

The reason why I have chosen the Emory School of Nursing is because I am aware it is one of the world´s leading nursing schools. I expect to learn more about working ethics, how to care for patients as a Registered Nurse (RN) and the elements that entails this, and how to recognize the various illnesses that I may have to encounter. Upon graduation I want to work as a Labor and Delivery RN or a Pediatrics RN. I will pursue my career as a healthcare giver by becoming a physician specializing as OB-GYN or a Pediatrician.

I want to contribute by bringing healthy newborns into this world, helping them prevent illnesses, and maintaining their health in good conditions. I worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a year in a Hospice, helping the elderly. This experience helped me respect and care for them in a loving way. I felt satisfaction in making someone smile, feel safe, and feel better about their health condition (cancer, Alzheimer´s, bed sores, broken bones, birth or death). I performed my clinical work to receive my LPN degree at the Hospice.

I volunteered there for two weeks and consequently I was offered the position for floor LPN. I have also volunteered for the Red Cross Mobile Bus Blood Drive. I worked as a phlebotomist for five years for a company that made collections for the Lab Corp. I am certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from Atlanta Safety. That was when I decided to further my career and become a Registered Nurse. I have a passion for helping others. My interest in graduate nursing education is to learn from faculty members, who are experts in the field.

I would like to work with your faculty members and help them perform their research since I have research skills and an interest to update my knowledge in the nursing and medical fields. I want to be part of those people who care for the healthcare of others. A special interest to me is palliative care. I hope the Emory School of Nursing gives me the opportunity to become part of its higher education institution so that I may fulfill my dreams as a Registered Nurse, a field that is in dire need of personnel.

I want to reach out to others in the healthcare profession.
