The weekend of Friday, May 17, 2013, to Sunday, May 19, 2013, saw the presentation of Jacobs Masterworks in the Copley Symphony Hall, San Diego. Although the program was expected to run for the whole weekend, there was no difference in the performances. Being an orchestra lover, I attended the Friday performance.

Both local citizens and some of my classmates attended the concert. The Legends Jazz Ensemble performed folk song and jazz during the concert. They held this concert in previous years but this was my first time I attended it. During the concert, a Korean folksong ‘Arirang’ from eastern culture performance took place.
Center of discussion in this paper is the concert takes place at La Roque d'Anthéron. The performance of the day is by pianist Yundi Li where he plays 4 Chopin Scherzos and the encore is La Campanella. Yundi has a seemingly effortless technique, and has this great mastery of the piano, which leaves him outstanding, and especially at his age during this performance.
Jazz music was the overriding form of popular dance music in the entire U.S. Dance bands and dance music existed prior to jazz music, and, after the rise of this genre, there were still numerous dance bands, which did not play jazz or utilized jazz elements scarcely. Folk rock is a term that was used to describe a genre of music in the late 1960s. It emanated from the fusion of traditional, folk music, and rock.
