It will be a personal story of the Caribbean Ensemble at York University, 15.03.2013. Due to the fact that performances were divided into three groups, we will present each one from the narrator's point of view, analyzing only one student's performance within it. For example, from the group one, it will be 'I Shot the Sheriff' by Bob Marley and The Wailers.
The sketchbook of Beethoven shows that some musical materials that were used in the symphony were written in 1811 (Nicholas 231). The symphony also came from other Beethoven’s pieces, while completion of the work on its own right shows some sense for future sketches for the symphony. The weekend of Friday, May 17, 2013, to Sunday, May 19, 2013, saw the presentation of Jacobs Masterworks in the Copley Symphony Hall, San Diego. Although the program was expected to run for the whole weekend, there was no difference in the performances. Being an orchestra lover, I attended the Friday performance.
Both local citizens and some of my classmates attended the concert. The Legends Jazz Ensemble performed folk song and jazz during the concert. They held this concert in previous years but this was my first time I attended it. During the concert, a Korean folksong ‘Arirang’ from eastern culture performance took place.
Center of discussion in this paper is the concert takes place at La Roque d'Anthéron. The performance of the day is by pianist Yundi Li where he plays 4 Chopin Scherzos and the encore is La Campanella. Yundi has a seemingly effortless technique, and has this great mastery of the piano, which leaves him outstanding, and especially at his age during this performance.
Jazz music was the overriding form of popular dance music in the entire U.S. Dance bands and dance music existed prior to jazz music, and, after the rise of this genre, there were still numerous dance bands, which did not play jazz or utilized jazz elements scarcely. Also, for a specific period of its survival, jazz was considered dance music.
Just then, the four stars of the Beatles were prevalently regarded as the most prominent and leading idols of the era. In the beginning of their career, Beatles had experimented skiffle and rock and roll of 1950s. Later on, they tried out other genres in their music albums like psychedelic rock and pop ballads.
Similarities in themes or points of views of messages being directed to the opposite sex continue to be exemplified. Folk rock is a term that was used to describe a genre of music in the late 1960s. It emanated from the fusion of traditional, folk music, and rock. In the United States and the United Kingdom, these were the most popular forms of music. Traditional folk music was pioneered by Bob Dylan, a member of the Los Angeles band referred to as The Byrds.
Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky was a Russian composer, pianist and also a conductor. He is considered to be one the most important composers during the early 20th century. His great reputation pushed through revolutionary boundaries of the musical design.
