The group came together in the year 2000 and is composed of Jelle van Dael, who is the vocalist, Peter Luts, and Jeff Martens, who are record producers. The group had three members at its formation, but one by the name of Evi Goffin left in 2008 after deciding to be a full-time mother (Lasgo). Evi Goffin was a vocalist, and this meant that the group had to find ways of replacing her.

After a thorough search, she was replaced with Jelle Van Dael who is now the band’s singer. The group has since worked together, performing in various events and building their name across Europe, especially in Belgium (Lasgo). Jelle Van Dael has a musical voice, a beautiful one at that. Her voice is very attractive and would make one glued to the radio until the end of the song she is performing. One thing that is so striking about her songs is the fact that they are progressive in nature.

Her song “Something”, for example, was released way in 2001 but listening to it feels like it was released the other day. The song is very aggressive, a feature that most techno music lacks. The vocals are what made this song become a hit. The song is laden with emotions and the mixes amplify it. Listening to drama and music combined makes one want to dance to the tune. 

The song held the first position on the Finnish dance chart for seventeen consecutive weeks. The song which later spread to other charts, especially in the UK, was the best-selling single in the year 2000 (Darude). There are several reasons why I like Darude. The first is that his songs are very inspiring and uplifting. This can explain why his first single had been retaining the number one chart position for seventeen consecutive weeks. No one’s song comes first like that without a hook somewhere that makes people addicted to it.

Secondly, his songs show some kind of progression in them just like those of Lasgo. They just never die. His song “Sandstorm” is an instrumental single. It was a huge hit because the song is actually danceable. One would not listen to the beats of the song, the wonderful mixes, and stay seated. It is the ultimate club song. The instrumentals just carry you and you feel part of the song and that is why people still love it to date.
