Concert Review The influence of Dinu Ghezzo who was a composer, performer and director of NYU composition program can still be felt even today. The concert was hosted in February 2012 in Leonard Nimoy Thalla Theatre at Symphony Space, New York. It was in memory of Dino Ghizzo. Further this concert and the performance of various artist and composers was to emphasize diversity in the live experience as well as reinforcing the composers and artists emphasis on concerts. The name of the concert is: US & Italy 2012: Two Lands, One Voice. The concert featured composers Ticcado Santoboni, Carlos Delgado, Giorgio Nattoli, Tom Beyer, Giovanni Costantini, Linda Marcel, Chan-Ji Kim, Eric Klein and Caroline H. Newman. Performers included Wendy Luck, Linda Marcel, Guido Arbonelli and Peter Jervis. In the show, the concert set the list, the creativeness, and the doldrums of all composers varied. All these features, in the concert, came jointly to produce a distinctive experience for the fans. The instruments that were used in this concert included violin, flute, harp and electronic sounds, clarinet and digital delay, flute, contrabass string ensemble. The contrabass was for the symphony orchestra. I enjoyed the first performance that was Rag Bageshree-Night Reflection. The performance was beyond any reason of doubt eclectic. The collaboration between Dinu Ghezzo and her daughter Christine Ghezzo was absolutely awesome. Christine Ghezzo is a world music singer who has been performing globally for over 20 years. She is specialized in Eastern European traditional music. This symphony orchestra went far beyond the disappointment repertoire, and reached a mass audience in ways few have ever imitated. Much of that was due to the performers and composers brilliance. This orchestra did a so very important outreach. Christine Ghezzo was the most beautiful of all the singers at the concert. She possessed such a beautiful voice and musical expression. For me she was a singer of classic poise and seriousness whose talent and creativity allowed produce a moving musical experience at the concert. Her natural humanity of the voice and something of the traits gave it, all momentarily, to the world. I also enjoyed to bits in Memoriam for flute, clarinet and piano. This song was dedicated tot the late Dr. Dinu Ghezzo. The performance included Wendy Luck, globally renowned vocalist, flutist, composer and performer. Wendy Luck has concertized in the United States, France, Italy, France, Poland, and Budapest amid other places. Guido Arbonelli played the clarinet and Michele Fabrizi played the piano. Michele Fabrizi graduated with honors at the Conservatory of Perugia. She performs as a soloist and plays many musical associations and institutions, including Agimus, Associazione Lamina, and Associazione Harmonica, amid others. The other horrific part of this concert was the new experience introduced by the eclectic electronic sounds. Routa Del Tempo by Giorgio Nottoli was like nothing I have experienced before. Routa Del tempo is completely produced by means of the microchip ORION. Giorgio Nottoli work of art was characterized by the tendency towards a gamut created by means of sound masses where the configuration of the resonance varied during lengthy time periods. Further, Routa Del Tempo is also characterized by a preponderance of stacks and bands of sound, but varies in carrying out a major function of discontinuity. Thus, it is normally useful to both the microstructure of sound and the form of the whole concerto. The band is splintered to pulverization and collection of stimulus. The form is subdivided into segments that are powerfully distinguished by diverse progressions of resonance and time. The electronic instrument with which the work was achieved is an incorporated circuit that has been intended for actual time fusion and processing sound. This incorporated circuit was developed by Giorgio Nottoli in 1990. He teaches Electronic Music at the Conservatory of Rome and at the University of Rome. His work usually deals with electronic-acoustic media for both fusion and processing of sound. Over the years, Giorgio Nottoli has designed both analog and digital musical techniques in union with numerous universities and research centers. I think Giorgio Nottoli will one day be remembered as a giant of the classical music world. He passes off as an iconoclastic, innovative and often controversial artist. The orchestra performed varying styles of music during the concert. Further, the concert was scheduled with a specific theme in mind and similar types of songs. The songs that played were from different genres of music. The contrabass String ensemble was directed by Paul Lee. It was real treat for the fans that had the chance to see and listen to the composers grace the occasion. Each piece on the program brought the audience the idea of the present day, depicted through the exclusive sound world of each composer. I was personally thrilled by the unique nature of the composers’ style. The Contrabass string ensemble was fascinating and virtuosic. I strongly believe that this performance dedicated to Dinu Ghezzo passed the test of time transforming the conventional classical concert. I felt that it that the concert was a lot more engaging for the wider audience. Technology only allowed the music played to be a great success without doubt. However, I felt that there is need to provide people a preference in the way they relate with classical music. For the listener who is familiarized to having technology and all its benefits, stepping into the concert hall was rather a welcomed or bewildering step into, frankly speaking, another world. Today, people want to engage in live-music no less. I felt that some musicians in the concert talked about what they were doing on stage in the same way the music spoke for itself. Nevertheless, if the organizers of the concert had necessarily urbanized a portfolio of concert experiences that could have allured different listening habits, then the concert for me would have, honestly, been an indelible experience. I would have recommended this review because the concert would offer the students a similar chance to interact with, talented composers and performers as well as with memorable music that borders on eclecticism, with the expectation of stereotypical view of the concert experience.
