If any of our ancestors would get a chance to visit us today, they would definitely buy a cell phone from our world and call their family to come immediately, with intentions of shifting here permanently. Without any doubt, the life of today is much easier, as compared to tomorrow and thanks to the invention of cell phones. Unlike our fathers, we do not have to wait for months for a mail carrier or we do not have to travel thousands of miles for seeing someone or hearing their voice.

In fact, the generation of today is more socially active, extrovert, participative, enthusiastic, vigorous, and energetic partly due to cell phones. Through mobile phones, the new generation has been able to widen their social networks. Moreover, they stay in touch with their more closely and can spend more time with them, thus, making them more socially active than their forefathers did. Deciding for a dinner party, understanding school homework from a friend, wishing some happy birthday, or gossiping about anything in the world is something that cell phone generation can do in minutes; however, our parents, in their early years, may not have even thought of doing all these tasks in one day.

Quite clearly, the invention of cell phones has increased the lifestyle of society by making it more efficient and bringing society and its members closer than ever (Horst & Miller, pp. 23-28). Important here to note is that we have paid an extremely heavy price for this productivity and socially active generation. Not only conservatives but even liberal and progressive critics also agree to the fact that cell phone has put a serious dent on the way people communicate which each other. For decades, our ancestors have tried their best to maintain the integrity, distinction, and reputation of their language through respecting it, through producing great works in poetry and literature, and through taking pride in it (Harper, & Buress, pp. 69). However, through cell phones, people have now created their own slang language, derived from English but having no empirical grounds, having abbreviations, symbols, and short forms that make no sense in the theology of language.
