All new starters need training to get used to the business and working environment. Mentors provide such type of induction training to all the employees of a company so that they are able to successfully perform their productive roles. Training needs differ for different organizations. While Training and mentoring requires planning and implementation of various methods and structure of the human development for getting the necessary deliverables, the result can be seen in the form of more productivity and customer satisfaction.
To compliment the established orientation program, the objective of the training is to establish constant contact with the mentoree. Set up the schedule of goals and objectives for the relationship between the mentee and the mentor. While helping the mentoree on the orientation and training program, the mentoring program should assist the mentee so that he is able to identify and access the resources. Apart from the above, the objectives of the mentor training include increasing morale and motivation index of the mentee, increase productivity, discover the hidden talent, fostering values of teamwork and sharing.
The training should be performed in order to enhance the skills of the trainee, so that he is inducted into the organization, and who can further pass these skills to the other staff of the business group aimed at increasing the productivity and profits. Better relation between the mentor and the mentee to ensure that the training program becomes voluntary only and mentee is not compelled to undertake the training and the mentee is willing to spend extra .time and effort for this purpose. No set period can be established for a mentor-training program.
