Basically, the process of learning can be a result of the different actions such as listening, understanding, conceptualization, experimentation, application and theorizing (Sahin, 2008, p.125). The differences in the learning styles and the functions of such groups are the main focus in the study undertaken. On the basis of the pool of knowledge regarding learning styles, there are different groups of learning styles that can be considered of importance of utilization. These groups include the groups that are analyzed by the Learning and Skills Research Centre which are referred to as the family of learning styles.
These are different basis for the classification of the learning styles which are the constitutionally-based learning styles and preferences, the cognitive structure, the stable personality type, the flexibly stable learning preferences and the different learning approaches and strategies (Coffield, Moseley, Hall and Ecclestone, 2004, p.11). The constitutionally based learning styles includes Dunn and Dunn’s model that mainly discusses the learning style that is based on education through a process of activation through different stimuli that included the environmental, emotional, sociological, psychological and physiological aspects (Coffield, Moseley, Hall and Ecclestone, 2004, p.20-21). Based on the said model learning styles and the attention that are given to the different ways that a student can learn can increase and optimize the learning process.
This is due to the fact that almost every aspect of a person’s activity can be considered as a factor in learning, thus, the educators and teachers can make use of the said aspects to open up the students to the learning process. For example with regards to the environmental aspect conducive learning conditions can be provided for to be able to achieve optimum learning.
