Project Management Project Management Introduction Every organization across the globe faces limitation resources. This is one aspect of management that brings massive challenge to most organizations. Limited resources explain the reason as to organization leaders or managers are required or called upon to develop important management skills. Project management is one of the activities within any organization that puts to a great test the ability of project managers and other leaders to manage the limited resources effectively towards the success of the organization.

From an economic point view, availability of resources largely determines project size and strategies of managing the project. From the fact that resources will always remain limited, managers are required to manage the limited resources using systematic ideas, effective methods and theories and good setting of standards to ensure the project succeeds without unnecessary expenditures. Most project managers whose projects have failed can be traced to the poor interpretation of resource availability.

It is on this point that the project managers are required to involve all round resource management skills to avoid failing vital company products. An all-round resource management in this case includes both financial and human capital. The elements needed for effective project management under the limited resources include the ability of the managers to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, control and evaluation of the whole process. These elements are always expected to form a key part of any project at the starting point.

Knowing or noting the importance of these elements during project is not enough to steer the project towards success. Leadership traits and practical aspects of the project management must take center stage. A number of projects have failed despite the availability of resources due poor leadership. One of the elements of project management leadership is involvement of all and accurate communication. Good project management must involve a gradual process of introduction of any new items or changes.

This study will focus on good project management from leadership to the practical point (Meredith and Mantel, 2012). ConclusionOrganizations and individual managers have experienced a series of project failures. These failures can be traced to poor management within the organization and the project team. The difference between successful and failed projects has been pointed out to be the management aspect. Successful project management as portrayed by this study requires effective management from the project managers and the entire team.

Perfect project management must involve working within the provided budget at time limit. Financial budget and time limit in any project are closely connected. This is because, any adjustment of project time must involve addition of payable, human capital and other materials needed to steer the project to success. Project managers must, therefore, have good knowledge of the duties and responsibilities. Apart from knowing the duties and responsibilities, their practical aspect must be up to standard.

Successful project management cannot be achieved by a single leader or manager. Organizations are also expected to play the key role of conducting an effective evaluation when appointing respective project managers. Apart this, project management is expected to involve a complete plan from the preliminary stages to its conclusion. This kind of plan is key in helping project managers identify critical points of the project. The critical points of any project should always be given important consideration.

Project failures can also result from resistance from organization members. This implies that managers should come up with ways of managing resistance to steering the project. In most cases where various projects have been imposed on people, part of the organization or affected people has acted with the main aim of sabotaging the project. To avoid such kind failures, any project manager must ensure all members of the organization have a good idea of the project and its consequences. Any process or part of the project should be introduced gradually to allow easy adaptability (Heldman, 2011).
