Personal ment, Other Topic: ment of purpose to apply BS/MS Accelerated Program After studying the prospectus and the program structure, I want to pursue academic study and undertake graduate studies in BS-MS accelerated program at the XXX University. After studying all the statistics related courses in my A-levels, I realized my fondness for these subjects and therefore, I want to pursue my career in this field. I have enjoyed as well as earned good grades in statistical courses especially calculus and other calculus related subjects.

In the BS-MS program, I want to pursue further studies in the field of Computational Applied Math. This is due to the fact that I love all math related subjects and I have great interests in these. My love for statistics courses started when I was in high school. We had a teacher, Mr. X, who used to teach us applied mathematics as well. He gave us examples from our everyday life and used to share real life examples to enhance our understanding of the basic concepts. He encouraged us to take help form other reference books as well which had a huge impact on enhancing our interests in the subject.

In A-levels, my interests in this field became more focused. Although other subjects were interesting too, I was more interested in calculus and therefore, I took these subjects in both the years to further extend my understanding in these areas. Computational Applied Mathematics is concerned with mathematical models used in other fields of study such as science, business, engineering and industry. Pursuing higher studies in this area would result in an association with other related fields as well.

Applied mathematics involves practical applications as well as practical understanding of the mathematical models. One of the reasons I selected the XXX University is because of the framework of the accelerated BS-MS science. This program allows students to earn both the bachelor as well as masters degrees in a period of five years only. A major attractive factor of this program is that it allows students to combine their studies of the bachelors and masters degree. This is actually really helpful as students can link their understandings from the concepts studied in both the programs.

I am eager to interact with the professors and experienced professionals from the applied mathematics field. I have contacted a number of current students from whom I have gathered information about the shared and open environment at the university. I have also learnt about the different communities and activities for the students, teachers as well as the communication channels with the industry professionals. I consider myself to be a hardworking and a focused individual therefore; I will be able to contribute to the university environment as well as learn from the talented students and experienced teachers.

Keeping in mind the competitive nature of the BS-MS admission process, I consider myself to be highly eligible because of my strengths as well as my interests in the selected field.
