It is important to note that long-life learning is inclusive of formal learning, non-formal learning, as well as informal learning. An assessment of the importance of being a long-life learner as well as how one plans to implement long-life learning in life is of paramount importance (Robbins, 2009). One of the crucial aspects of being a life-long learner is that it assists one in utilizing fully his/her natural capabilities.

This is based on the fact that we are all born with inherent natural abilities and which require some form of igniting to keep moving. It is only through long-life learning that one can realize these capabilities. Additionally, a person’s mind is opened up throughout the process of learning. Every skill a person acquires becomes a form of enlightenment. Life-long learning also increases a person’s level of wisdom. Learning shapes the perspective of a person by boosting the level of understanding and subsequently, increases the ability of a person to make valid and sound decisions in life.

In addition, lifelong learning helps to improve the world. Cumulating ideas, concepts, as well as knowledge helps people to come up with innovative ideas that when implemented improve the life hood of people in the world. It also helps an individual irrespective of age to give life meaning. This is through being flexible to changes. Of importance to note here is that change in life is inevitable and hence a person who refuses to update himself/herself eventually finds it difficult to adapt to changes whenever they occur (Barrett et al., 2011). Having learned the importance of life-long learning I strongly believe that its full implementation in my entire life will improve my net-worth in this world.

This is while in my education learning in the university as well as in other aspects of life. While undertaking my studies in the university I plan to make maximum use of all the learning opportunities I come across. Informal learning, I intend to make maximum use of lecturers, the library, as well as my fellow students. Through this, I will be able to acquire invaluable knowledge that will form a strong base for my career once out of the university. Additionally, once outside for an internship, I intend to make maximum use of this opportunity to equip myself with workplace experience from experienced employees.

This will enable me to turn into a reliable professional within my area of study. On the other hand, I intend to socialize with those who I interact with, by this I mean the students, lecturer, university workers, as well as other individuals and learn from them concerning all that life entails. This will equip me with competencies of co-existing with others well and as well equipped me with life skill competencies (Houghton & Houghton, 2009). Long-life learning is an important aspect of a person’s life.

It assists to form a wholesome person. Through life-long learning, one is able to accumulate knowledge that can be helpful to others as well as to the whole world at large. Life-long learning equips a person with valuable competencies that allows one to lead a dignified life when dealing with oneself as well as when dealing with others.
