 Abdullah Azzam Brigades is a Sunni Islamist militant group working with Al Qaeda and also a global jihad movement. The organization is working in many countries and also is named after the late Sheikh Abdullah Azzam who is a Palestinian and belongs to Jordan. He was among those few Arabs who were a part of Afghan Jihad fighting against Russia during the 1980s. Terrorist gang Abdullah Azzam Brigades are declared as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the Department of State. The Abdullah Azzam Brigades is basically a militant organization formed in 2009, which is working in Lebanon and also Arabian Peninsula. Saleh al Qarawi is the leader of this organization. Salah Al Qaradawi is basically a Saudi citizen and was also in the 85 most wanted terrorist lists issued by the Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia. The department of State designated this organization as a bomb maker along with specially designated global terrorists.

They are responsible for the July 2010 attack which was on M/V M.Star a Japanese-owned oil tanker based in the Strait of Hormuz. There are also various online statements released against this organization and according to one of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades also took the responsibility for the attack on the Arabian Peninsula Branch. Yusuf al Uyayri calls itself the Battalions of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades. They are particularly fighting against the western interests in the Middle East and they have articulated their intentions and demands regarding this numerous times. They were also involved in showing interest in kidnapping U.S and also British tourists based in the Arabian Peninsula.
Abdullah Azzam Brigades also were involved in major indiscriminate rocket attacks on Israeli civilians. These attacks were launched in Lebanon and Ziyad al-Jarrah again took responsibility for this. This organization was involved in targeting the population of northern Israel and the central areas of Israel. All these designations caused a lot of problems and resulted in the prevention of providing the material support and also resources so that they can get engaged in transactions with Abdullah Azzam Brigades. All the property which was under this organization’s control was taken away within the parameters of the state. Department of Justice and Treasury were behind all these actions which were taken by the Department of State.
