The research question will be, ‘Is there any difference between the school performances of low-birth weight and normal weight children?’

Study 1:
Saigal, Saroj, et al. "Cognitive abilities and school performance of extremely low birth weight children and matched term control children at age 8 years: A regional study." The Journal of Pediatrics 118.5 (1991): 751-760.
The study was conducted to reveal the differences in school performances of extremely low birth weight children and control groups. The researchers tested both low birth weight and control groups at a mean with the age group of 8 years. The ELBW group did less well as compared to control groups in comprehension, mathematics, motor performance, and visual-motor integration.

Saigal, Saroj, et al. "School Difficulties at Adolescence in a Regional Cohort of Children Who Were Extremely Low Birth Weight." Pediatrics 105.2 (2000): 325-331.
In this research, the researchers compared the psychometric assessment and school difficulties measures between teenagers having extremely low birth weight and term controls. The results determined that increased risk regarding shool peerformances was deeply associated with low birth weight teenagers.
