Worldview Defended My own worldview is such that I like to see the people around me from a perspective that details their domains in a positive fashion. It means that I like to have a look at things which have a deep impact on life more than anything else. The world around me is such that I need to pay attention to the people who make up my world in the first place. This means that my energies and efforts should be focused towards them to reap the best possible results. I will be able to garner the trust and confidence of others if I am able to understand these people and bring my own point forward. I opine that if someone does well for the mankind, he will be returned the same favor in the long run. Thus it is up to this person to bring wellness to the society through meaningful ways and commit to a moral undertaking so that there are more avenues for growing optimism and harmony amongst the people. The reason why I say so is because I firmly hold this opinion that when man does something good for others, he surely receives the same in return in the future. This is a global principle of being fair with everyone and my understanding has come about with the passage of time, based on solid footings. Even my elders have taught me much the same which has strengthened my belief and made me aware of how things shall shape up within the course of my life time. I am proud to help others and be an able part within their lives nonetheless. When it comes to peace and sanity in this world, my opinion becomes even more powerful that peace regimes should always prevail in the wake of tough times. This is because peace is a much needed phenomenon in this day and age, as it resolves quite a number of issues happening on the global front. If the inmates of this world start believing in peaceful co-existence, many of their issues would be resolved in a very amicable way. There would be less trouble experienced by the people and much harmony that shall come about in the long run. Peace is required today because there have been many wars happening all over the world and also the wave of terror has brought a lot of damage to the people. They fear for their life and property, which is an abysmal situation to state the least. There is a great amount of disharmony that exists which has hampered the peace and tranquility of this world. The leaders need to step up and make their voice get heard amongst the crowd because this is the need of the hour. It shall resolve the issues which have plagued the basis of this world in a number of different ways. Having said that I comprehend that my worldview sees things as they are – bringing forward nothing else but peace and serenity for everyone so that there are more friendships and ties of brotherhood than there are at the present. This will take care of the negativities which have come about with the passage of time, and which shall be resolved through mutual understanding and consent, if proper care and attention is paid. My worldview is therefore an extension of who I am and what I bring to the people around me. They are the ones for whom I am alive and I would like to embody the basis of my life for them. Since I believe in complete devotion and dedication for the people whom I love, I am always geared to reach the best possible levels in terms of help and assistance. It gives me a feeling of happiness and satisfaction when I am assisting them in their day to day affairs. For me, love and affection is a very heavenly feeling which I like to have within my folds. I will continue to inculcate and encourage such a positive perspective about life in the times to follow, because this is something very close to my heart and my being. The support that I receive from the people around me when I am being truthful to them is overwhelming. It makes me realize that I am doing something worthwhile and giving back to the society what I have learned from it over the years. Hence it would be correct to fathom that my worldview is based on a premise that teaches one and all the art of living together which is essentially co-existence for the sake of growth and development. This will be the basis of my success and the ones who would like to follow me as an example within their own lives. When I compared my worldview with my friend from college, I realized that my worldview was more practical, had more reasoning available and solid in its own right. My friend thought of the world around him in a very pessimistic manner which was entirely different to how I took life. This is the reason why we are not thinking on the same lines as far as life’s domains are concerned. I believe being negative does not really help. Instead it makes things difficult to comprehend. Plans get delayed and their execution reaps all the wrong results that one can think of. This is the reason why my worldview is entirely different from what people around me think and feel, and more specifically the friend I am discussing here. The comparison seems slightly off-track because this friend sees things from a perspective which is more black and white than anything else. He would not appreciate the role played by people in his life as well as the world around him. I am confident that if this friend sees things from a balanced viewpoint, he would start loving life around him and eventually his worldview will change with the passage of time. However, for now his worldview is distinct and cannot be appreciated under any circumstance whatsoever. This is largely owing to his own mindset that things would not change and any effort which is done under the ranks of bringing in sanity would not pay any dividends no matter how hard one tries. Indeed this is a very negative perspective which has plagued his mind and it would be correct to state that it would take some considerable time to dispel such feelings, if and only if some work is applied upon him with the help and assistance of others around him. Similarly, I aim to play my role in a vibrant and positive fashion so that much success can be achieved in the long run. I will do whatever I can to change his beliefs yet this seems like a very hard thing to do at this point in time. The superiority of my own worldview stems from the fact that I think straight and on my own feet. However, my friend is very different because he likes to see things as he wants to and not how things are. Even though his mentors have time and again asked him to think and act straight, he fails to comply. This is a problem as far as his life domains and his personality is concerned (Kirrane, 2008). He must bring about a change which shall be for the better because half of the task is completely amicably well when the thinking levels are set right. I am confident that with a little help from people like me and the ones who are close to my friend, he will be able to come back towards life and understand its finer points once and for all. When I compare my worldview in terms of peace and harmony in this world with my friend, I once again come out as the better party. This is because he thinks that all destruction in this world has happened for the right reasons, and that if people do not get killed, there would be more war for attaining food in the world. He asserts that food scarcity would mean people will eventually die and thus it is right to kill them through assassinations, catastrophes and calamities every now and then. His perspective can never be seen as a good one because he likes to view things in a manner which is simply unbecoming of him as a human being. I am sure that if proper efforts are put into place, he will be able to think of the world around him in a better manner than he is doing at the present. The superiority of my worldview is therefore more or less dependent on how well I am able to see things in my world and compare the same with what my friend has to say. My confidence emanates from the fact that I am right in drawing parallels yet I come out as the winner when the comparison is made between me and my friend regarding the specific worldviews that we have. The superiority therefore is in my own worldview and not my friend’s which as a point encourages me greatly. A contemporary ethical dilemma that has come up in this day and age is whether society should allow same-sex marriages or traditional form of marriages. There seem to be many answers available yet I will offer my own perspective keeping in mind the worldview that I have. I am of the opinion that traditional marriages are better off than the same-sex marriages mainly because the traditional marriages offer so much to the society while the same-sex ones bring loneliness and hidden agendas to the fore more than anything else. I have seen people who have had marriages within the same gender to be more prone to disease, unhappiness and tension during their lives than the ones who have never believed in such quarters to begin with. Same-sex marriages result in problems for the couples because they are not widely accepted yet the traditional marriages are more conventional and follow a certain norm. My perspective is based on the fact that these two forms of marriages should be kept separate from one another as they bring a list of differences which need to be understood first and then only executed in the real sense of the word. My worldview does not allow me to go deep within the same-sex marriage ideology as it is not only different but also vehemently opposed by my ancestors who have brought solid reasoning in front of me. Even though marriages bring couples in close association with one another, the most basic point that must be understood is that of empathy – to understand where the couples are coming from and how they will make their marriage tick in the long run scheme of things. My worldview framework is thus set on the perspective that marriages bring human beings together and thus there must be a basic pattern upon which marriages must last. It will help resolve the ambiguities if traditional marriages are encouraged as these bring out the best amongst both men and women. Same-sex marriages do not bring any sanity within the related ranks and only make things look gloomier than they are within the world. My worldview is therefore in complete favor of traditional form of marriages because they bring results which are long-lasting and positive for the family. The same-sex marriages do not play the role which is required of them in the long run, which essentially suggests the kind of negativity that exists within the society (Caragata, 2009). The same-sex marriages are inherently different from traditional marriages because either of them comes up with divorce in the end, and there is more reason why same-sex marriages lead to such breakups from a strategic perspective. I am hopeful that if the worldview has to change for the better for the people who live near to me, then there is a requirement that same-sex marriages should be bolstered with people who have a good perspective towards life and who want to be successful at building their relationships in a very pragmatic manner. When the people who believe in same-sex marriages do acts which are related with the traditional form of marriage, then there is a good omen which gets attached with the same-sex marriages. However, there is a good amount of work that needs to be done in order to achieve such results. In the end, it would be proper to suggest that the same-sex marriages should be avoided as much as possible and the traditional marriages should be encouraged for a number of good points. This will embody the basis of success in the long run and comprise of areas where much harmony would come about in the long range scheme of things. References Caragata, L. (2009).
