Extract of sample "Social Movement Theory"

This social movement theory helps individuals to come to terms with their wants and needs and form organizations and societies among their own with a view to achieving all that they desire without getting into conflicts with others. However, this has not been as successful as writers and thinkers would have liked, and proof of that is the violence that has been suppressing the Middle East. In order to understand the key concepts of this theory, one must gauge into the political sphere within which the movement develops; every political atmosphere contains a very dynamic interest and consists of government intervention whether positive or negative, constraints on the people, and challenges that need to be faced by the people forming the organization.

Similarly, the concept of Intifada had also been incepted within a very politically and economically exploited environment due to the unbearable lifestyle that Palestinians were forced to survive under the purview of. Anwar Al-Awlaki for example became the face of Western Jihad because of the tensions that were going on in Egypt. He took on a form of his own movement with a view to make progress within his country and try and surmise the demands that the already powerful aspects of society had.

It is not an easy task to simply eradicate every ‘wrongdoing’ that occurs in society. This is directed towards these social groups that take to violence and terror when their voices are not heard. They have demands that need to be adhered to as well and thus raises the question of whether or not to understand the diverging goals and objectives of different kinds of groups living within society. It is true that the Palestinian Liberation Organization will have different wants than the Hamas however, it is important to not let anyone group shun their stance down in order to accept the other because this is when discomfort begins to arise.

Therefore, social movement theory is directed towards different groups of individuals coming together in order to gain access to the rights that they think they have.
