The media has got a huge responsibility of accurately portraying how crime is being manifested within any society of the world. This is because media is the basis of achieving success within the combating of crime and to make sure that criminals see wrath at the hands of the authorities. What is significant is how well crime is being handled and what kind of measures are in place to make sure that criminals do not get encouraged for a number of different reasons. Even though crime is being documented time and again within the different media circles and being propagated by the media vehicles in entirely varied settings, its role is being questioned time and again. This has meant that media has been unable to showcase success within the crime regimes and has not been able to showcase its true face at exposing crime and the criminals who are at large on most of the occasions (Weeks, 2011). The most interesting aspect of properly understanding the nuances related with crime and its propagation within any society of the world and especially within Australia is made when people are trying to get the hang of the criminal elements which are plaguing the people and the society in essence. What is required is a vision to set the good and the bad apart from one another so that both virtue and vice have their respective positions within the societal domains. The people who make media such a huge phenomenon are indeed the ones who have to decide what is deemed as right and what can be judged as wrong without any doubt. These include the anchors, the media persons, the talk show hosts, the reporters, the news analysts and so on. The need is to realize that this huge phenomenon must not be blown out of proportion rather the emphasis should be kept on bringing sanity within the related ranks (Thorn, 2008). It will assure that the media stays on track and the criminal element present within the Australian society is checked at all times. One of the most significant reasons why crime is being propagated lies solely in the fact that the criminals are being allowed to do just that. The media is playing its negative role on most of the occasions, and this is earmarked as something that is proving to be a serious problem if seen within the related settings. How crime gets the back seat is important for the society’s different dimensions and this must be brought to the fore none other than the media alone. The element of being responsive in terms of reporting, finding out facts from just about everywhere and directly reporting with statistics by one’s side would mean that the media is fulfilling its role in an able way. However, this seldom happens owing to a host of reasons which are not fully explained by the people who can bring about a serious difference in the lives of the people. Being responsible is indeed an arduous task but not one that cannot be provided the cover in the time and age of today (Gottschalk, 2011). It would mean that the different processes of the criminal element within the Australian society are being responded to positively and that measures and remedies are being enacted to assure success within the related ranks in entirety. The element of responsibility comes from the very top – a desire to reach the summit with immense hard work and dedication on the part of the authorities which have to single out crime as their worst enemy. This would mean that there are serious efforts being undertaken by these very authorities to set things right and to bring about a sense of accountability in front of the people. What remains to be seen is how well respond to the fulfillment of responsibility on the part of the media persons, the anchors, the media analysts, the reporters and so on (Bodman, 1997). If they believe that the media is not shaping up as a deterrent within the present day and age, they will make their point get across so that the corrective role of the media is at least heard out loud. After all, the people within any society of the world and specifically within Australia make sure that they are being heard in large numbers. They believe in the premise that they must get up and make their voice get heard within the worldly affairs and more so when there is a wave of violence and crime on the rampage. This must be tackled in such a way that there is success all around, but then again it has to start from somewhere. Research has proven that the crime is a major problem in nearly all the regions of the world. The evidence has come from books, journals, periodicals, newspapers and magazines. The analysts have time and again suggested that crime is being made use of by the media people in large numbers. If this crime is handled with utmost care, then this could be tackled in a comprehensive manner. The step by step process might take some years to accomplish the goal but it would make sure that the entire process gets to see the light of the day. Wholesome efforts need to be put in by the politicians, media people, analysts and all those who are directly or indirectly linked with the world of media. The criminal elements must always be highlighted. There is no other way that would take care of this problem (Lusty, 2002). Once again this has also come to the fore through research and evidence presented by the people who are at the helm of affairs within the media avenues. Hence the research that has been conducted all this while has been spot on with its findings because crime has increased in much the same way as was envisaged by the people who wanted to solve the predicaments attached with it. The need is to be proactive in the dealing of crime rather than the other way around as a wait and see approach would not solve the problem at all. Whether or not the media is aware of its role within the propagation of crime is something that must be understood properly. This is because it has been seen often times that crime is not being given the cover that is required on the part of the media. It has meant that the media avenues have largely been left at the mercy of the ones who can use or abuse it to suit their own needs, wants and desires. This is a sorry state of affair as far as understanding the nuances of crime and its relation with media is concerned. There is a dire need to get the hang of media playing its active role at suggesting to all and sundry that it would be savior for the society when it comes to combating crime but then again this seldom takes place in the true sense of the word. Within Australia, it is a given that crime has played havoc with the society (Jobes, 2002). Its people have felt the brunt due to a number of reasons and this is the exact rationale behind understanding how Australians spend their lives and what they are ready to do in order to reap sanity within their respective life domains. It must be made sure that they know exactly what kind of criminal elements are proving to be a nuisance and how they as a collective nation should get up and make their voice get heard within the thick of things (Segrave, 2011). This has been proven with research that Australians usually speak out loud whenever they face such challenges and do not appreciate when they are pushed to the wall. They are tough individuals who appreciate sanity within their ranks and any form of criminal aspect within their society is deemed as intolerable right from the onset. In the end, it would be sound to suggest here that crime remains a serious problem for any country of the world and not only Australia. This is because it hurts the cause of the nations when it comes to their brotherhood, oneness and unity. What is important here is an understanding that deals with crime and how it has become such a huge deterrent in the wake of the global societies that are on the rise more and more (Bryett, 1997). The role of the media however flummoxes just about everyone. This is necessary to understand because it cannot be denied its due right within the related setting and sooner rather than later much would have to be done to make sure that the media portrays the actual condition of crime and how it has been plaguing the societies of this world for so long. Essentially, it is imperative that the basis of any society is safeguarded because it shall ensure harmony across the board and allow for sanity to prevail at the end of the day.
