Extract of sample "Simulation of Real Life"

Since Second Life offers users the convenience of simulating real-life experiences in a virtual manner and that too in a way in which users can relate to their real-life experiences almost as if they are in the real world and not in the virtual one, many people view Second Life as being akin to a real-world experience instead of just being a game. The fact that Second Life users participate in activities that are very similar to real-life ones makes the separation between real-life and virtual worlds redundant.

When one considers the fact that in recent years, most people transact their business online, Second Life offers people the chance to take their online experience one step further by making them feel like they are in the real world. It is because of these reasons that many users of Second Life view it not as a game but as a real-life experience. The experiential aspect of Second Life is what sets it apart from other online software and hence, users feel as though they are living in the real world when using Second Life. 3) Companies can promote and market products that they manufacture in the real world on Second Life because of the similarities between the real and virtual that Second Life offers.

For instance, companies can promote lifestyle products to users of Second Life and benefit from hosting conferences and meetings in addition to marketing financial products and schemes on Second Life. Because of the way in which Second Life is structured, companies are offered a host of opportunities to market their products on Second Life which gives them the convenience of real-world marketing without the costs associated with such endeavors. Hence, companies can benefit from access to a dedicated pool of consumers who inhabit Second Life and they can draw upon this pool of consumers to buy their products.

In conclusion, Second Life is an innovative and novel experience-based software that can blur the distinction between the virtual and the real and hence represents the future of online marketing.
