We expect that all of the individuals will fall in this range therefore our expected value for this group is 25. Since we are informed that as a rule of thumb, the expected number in each class should be greater than or equal to five for the test to be accurate therefore our test fulfills this criterion as we have at least 5 individuals in each group. Since the value of the test statistic is greater than 3.841, therefore we will reject the null hypothesis that is at 5% significance level we have sufficient evidence to conclude that the both the group differ in their characteristics.

Hence we can reject the hypothesis that the individual cm/kg ratio do not fall between 3.5 to 4.5 cm/kg
