Internet Service provider 2. Value Added Services 3. International telecommunications Services 4. National Fixed Telecommunication Services Life Telecom, unlike a typical Internet Service Provider, provides its users with a unique forum for communications and entertainment through: wireless internet, national and international telephony traffic and VAS end to end. Life Telecom is a real alternative telecommunications provider in Bahrain proving its technological superiority with fully converged IPs architecture and the use of selective wireless technologies, therefore enabling substantial reduction of network investment, ergo becoming an extremely cost effective option for the users. Life Telecom is responsible for optimizing the delivery of state-of-the-art converged services including Voice, Internet, Video, Surveillance and many other features. With the support of strategic partners and Life Telecom’s self-resources, the company will not only study the requirements of the mall but also come up with an integrated solution that will provide excellent internet and other communication services more favorably in favor of efficiency, cost and control. The changes in the methodology of telecommunication era have necessitated adopting a completely viable alternative to traditional, disparate telephone, data, video and TV networks (I don’t understand what you’re trying to say here). Corporate Profile - “Enrich the Life through Communication” Life Telecom’s competitive advantage over other providers is based on execution of commitments, true delivery of advanced services and breakthrough technological solutions. It is also the first company in Bahrain to combine the extensive use of IPs for the integrated deployment and management of voice, data and video & VAS over wireless networks. In this way, Life Telecom has achieved many key objectives: To offer customers on wireless practically unlimited bandwidth (i.e. on demand request) and to maximize the efficiency of the investment in its infrastructure, hence, reflecting cost effective on customer side. With this built up Network, Life Telecom is developing innovative, value added services that are used simultaneously over the same network platforms. Life Telecom provides a wide range of services – telephony, broadband internet connectivity, advanced IPTV and video services, advanced video-communication (video-conferencing for businesses and video-streaming for live events), Tele-surveillance - to all market segments ranging from large, small and medium sized businesses, small offices and home offices to residential customers. Also, Life Telecom would be shortly providing mobile broadband wireless access (hotspot Wi-Fi) & virtual private networks (VPNs). Life Telecom can also deploy and implement Wireless infrastructures across buildings, campuses, hospitals, and cities. These technological elements have allowed Life Telecom to develop a highly innovative business model characterized by the following distinctive features: - Innovation and service differentiation: Life Telecoms competitive leverage is characterized by the continuous evolution of its distinctive value added services based on its fully integrated IP network, with EMS/ NMS providing a comprehensive control over the network. - Planning of direct access of the wireless network to cover most locations across the whole of Bahrain (City Cloud Coverage) - IP technology for provisioning various types of services to different customer segments (both business and residential) using a single integrated platform: IP technology allows the integrated distribution of various types of services including voice, Internet and video (triple play) using the same network. Not only does the use of IP technology allow the development of a myriad of modular, value added services, it is also much easier and less costly to manage. INTRODUCTION Seef Mall is one of the largest malls in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Wireless networks offer great benefits for shopping malls. Wi-Fi, which operates without cables, is extremely popular because of its flexibility as well as mobility. Reports and statistics show that Wi-Fi has boomed over the last five years. In this report, Life Telecom proposes a complete wireless solution for Seef mall, highlighting the benefits of Life Telecom’s Wi-Fi internet solution. About Wi-Fi Wireless-Fidelity also known as Wi-Fi works with no physically wired connection between the sender and receiver, by using radio frequency (RF) technology, a frequency within the electromagnetic spectrum associated with radio wave propagation. When an RF current is supplied to an antenna, an electromagnetic field is created which then is able to propagate through space. The cornerstone of any wireless network is an access point (AP). The primary job of an access point is to broadcast a wireless signal that computers can detect and ‘tune’ into. The Benefits Some of the benefits of Wi-Fi are: - Compatibility: All major laptops, Palm held devices, smart phones, and some printers are Wi-Fi compatible - Wi-Fi is Unobtrusive: unless you’re on the lookout for a place to use your laptop you may not even notice you are in a Wi-Fi hotspot. - Widespread Coverage: The Wi-Fi network allows access from any part of the building. This allows someone to take a laptop from one area to another area without losing network connectivity. It gives access to network resources without needing to hunt around for a free computer. Wireless printers can be used to print from any place within the Wi-Fi coverage area. - Reduce Cable Clutter: Wi-Fi also allows a Local Area Network (LAN) to be set up without cables. This dramatically reduces the cost of network connections and expansion. - Offsite Access: More and more Wi-Fi hotspots are appearing in malls, campuses, schools, airports, hotels, coffee shops, and restaurants. Some cities are installing municipal wireless networks that allow access anywhere within the city limits. - Avoid Deterioration with Time: Network Cables and Sockets tend to deteriorate over time, while Wi-Fi does not have this disadvantage. A typical upscale mall such as Seef Mall can attract a lot of visitors each year. In addition, retailers within the mall have both a business and personal need for high speed internet access. Life Telecom Internet Solution can act as a net to reach out and catch passing potential customers. Existing Life Telecom users can a brief stop to check the Internet and enter the stores and purchase while theyre "in the neighborhood." Shoppers can find out in real time the promotions and deals offered by the various tenants in the shopping mall. Some of the benefits for Seef Mall: - An up-to-Date wireless infrastructure and internet solution for the Seef Mall. - Full Wi-Fi coverage across Seef Mall using the latest Wi-Fi equipments - Records and statistics of the number of customers using Seef Mall’s Wi-Fi. - System can also be expanded to include IP camera surveillance for security purposes. - Life Telecom’s Package includes a Domain, Web Hosting, Templates and 5000 SMSs - A faster internet service due to the Life Telecom’s specialized equipment. - Great mode of advertisement for Seef Mall. Some of the benefits for the shops in Seef Mall: - With Life Telecoms unique log in portal, shops can advertise their offers and increase their revenue. The image below shows an example of what the log in portal would look like. 8 - Once the customer/Shopper connects to Life Telecom’s internet by Wi-Fi, the login page will appear. - As you can see by the above image, shops can advertise on the front page. - If the customer clicks on the shop’s logo (e.g. Marks & Spencer’s), a screen will appear such as this:- - The location of the shop in the mall will appear, with the details of the shops and the offers that the shops have. e.g. Sale on 50 % of the products. This type of advertisement is unique and has proved to be very popular among other shopping malls. Majority of people nowadays have Smart phones (e.g. Blackberry, HTC etc.) with Wi-Fi compatibility making it easier for them to connect to the internet. How It Works Using the latest technology Life-Telecom will fully cover Seef Mall by deploying access points in strategic locations within the Mall. The above image is an example of how the access point will be placed. Life Telecom will then carry out an analysis based on the bandwidth and the amount of users within the mall. Based on this analysis Life Telecom will then respectively choose the type of equipment to be used and its placement throughout the mall. Conclusion To conclude, this report will act as a preliminary stage introducing the company and its concept to Seef Mall. The points above are only a few of the benefits that Life Telecom has to offer. Our excellent service and support will be the key to a successful relationship between Life Telecom and Seef Mall. If Possible Life Telecom’s team would like to meet up with a representative from Seef Mall and discuss in detail the benefits of using Life Telecom as Seef Mall’s internet and Wi-Fi provider. With an approval from Seef Mall, Life Telecoms technical team would also like to do a site survey by means of which a full report can be constructed and submitted, with accurate details of the infrastructure of the Wi-Fi system, as well as the Internet Services Life Telecom can provide.
