Personal ment Today’s world is the world of knowledge. Advancement in all the concepts and theories related to learning and knowledge acquisition has made studies very Interesting and challenging. Students have ample choice of subjects to choose from in order to gain knowledge. Every student should opt for a subject that suits his ability or that inspires him. There should be no restriction in terms of subject selection. Institutions should also be selected according to one’s needs. This paper contains a description of my aims related to my career, which I will try to fulfill in my near future. A person should always adopt the educational program that suits to his or her career plans. Career planning is essential for success in life and I have always kept this notion in mind. My immediate career plans entail moving from employment in the private sector, in order to establish and manage my own business in the near future. Although my current work in GMME in Saudi Arabia requires strong leadership and decision-making skills, so I decided to come to Canada and to apply for new degree that will help me to reach my goals in the near future. I opted for Royal Roads University because of its sound reputation in the field of business studies. In addition, I had feeling that the degree offered at Royal Roads University-Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management will provide me with the advanced leadership and managerial skills and the necessary information to the development of fledgling business enterprises. I am confident that the complexity and diversity of courses offered in this program will provide me with a comprehensive understanding of organizational models and managing strategies and skills that I need in my job and to start my business soon. The degree of Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management will facilitate me with education and practical knowledge related to the field of business. Not only will I be able to get business knowledge but also management skills such as leadership and decision-making. For a businessperson, it is overly significant that he knows to lead and decide. It is only possible with acquired knowledge of business and management that one can work successfully with a personal business. For me, I think that the degree offered by Royal Roads University is the best choice, as it comprises each and every aspect of my career goals. Learning is necessary for success in any field of life, therefore, the knowledge that I will attain from the university will make me eligible to serve people in a better manner. I will prove myself not only an asset for the university but for the whole society by my continuous efforts and struggle towards attainment of better results and authentic knowledge related to the field. Knowledge is always rewarding. The knowledge and education that I will get from the university will enable me to understand everything related to business field and I will be able to become a better citizen of my society, as knowledgeable and educated people are always assets for their society. My education program suits my career plan that is opening my own business and progressing in my current job. TGIF Case Analysis Form Name: Yousef AbdulJawad I. Problems A. Macro 1. Bill Carter feels problematic about serving Alcohol at the parties that are arranged on every Friday. 2. After being drunk, the employees can create a problem for Quantum Company because of any accidents caused. B. Micro 1. The reputation of the company can suffer because of the any accident that is caused because of drunkenness of the employees. 2. Everyone is equal at the party, which can be problematic for some employees. II. Causes 1. Bill Carter had second thoughts about the beer parties because of losing balance of some of the employees such as John, the programmer. 2. The drunkenness of employees that can cause accidents can drag the company into legalities due to which, Bill showed discomfort. III. Systems Affected 1. The company’s reputation as a whole can suffer. 2. Employee-management relationship can suffer. 3. Sales and development can suffer because of company’s liabilities. IV. Alternatives 1. In place of beer parties, sporting events can be arranged. V. Recommendations As the company’s size is getting larger every year, it needs to look for some better measures for controlling a situation such as drunkenness of employees that can drag the company into court because of some accident. A van can be arranged for leaving the employees at their homes after the party due to which, they will not able to drive themselves home in a drunken state. In addition, the ratio of beer usage can be restricted to a certain extent so that the problem of losing balance can be controlled. Other healthy activities can be arranged for the employees such as sport events. The Dim Lighting Co. Case Analysis Form Name: Yousef AbdulJawad I. Problems A. Macro 1. Dim Lighting Subsidiary failed to realize its operating targets and profit margins dropped by 15 percent. 2. Mr. Spinks, a well-known scientist who is the director of R&D department of Dim Lighting Subsidiary proposes a project of micro-miniaturization that requires long term struggle and promises to give profit on long term basis and in case, the general manager rejects his project proposal, there is a doubt that he would reassign. B. Micro 1. The company is not in a position to endure large expenses as are required by the new project. The headquarters are also reluctant in funding the project. 2. The directors are divided into a 2:2 ratio and fight for their proposed projects. II. Causes 1. The general manager knows that Mr. Spinks has left his previous job because of management’s lacking support to innovation and creativity due to which, he is threatened that Mr. Spinks can leave the job, which will have dire consequences for the department. 2. The Company experienced a decline last year due to which, the general manager feels himself in no position to take another chance and he wants to have some project that is less expensive and gives immediate results. III. Systems Affected 1. The company’s reputation as a whole will suffer. 2. The general manager’s career will be endangered in case of project failure. 3. Company’s R&D department will suffer in case of Spinks’ reassigning. IV. Alternatives 1. The Company can invest in smaller projects in place of a large project that are quick in giving results. 2. Mr. Spinks can be informed about the whole situation of the company. V. Recommendations According to my understanding, the company should not invest in a big project such as the project of micro-miniaturization as it requires long struggle. However, Mr. Spinks can be taken into confidence and he can be allowed to work on the project on a slower rate with less expenditure. Other smaller projects can be started and Mr. Spinks support can be taken. Read More
