This capability is of supreme importance as it could affect supplies and could even actually grind production to a halt due to a lack of critical production materials or supplies.
Logistics, therefore, needs to be blended with the entire procurement, production, and delivery process. This research provides a conceptual framework for understanding the maritime logistics that administrate the domestic production of goods and services, and for understanding the ways in which international trade evolves over time.
It is also necessary to understand the ways in which international trade changes under the process of maritime logistics. The purpose of any research proposal is to enhance the capability of students to individually undertake critical research and reflect an understanding of the research project.

In this assignment, a brief idea of the dissertation, research questions, and key focus areas are provided. In doing so, the rationale of the research and its related literature review has also been taken up.
In order to reach consumers on a global basis, bulk commodities and finished goods today both require mass movement. This makes maritime movement, or carriage of goods by the sea a major logistic event and over the years, maritime transport has evolved to meet specific requirements both for speedy and safe transport of all kinds of material- liquids, solids, and special kinds of shipments.

Supply chain partners are critical in the success of any business, in both upstream as well as downstream operations. But these, in turn, are dependent upon logistics who really underpin supply chain business. They need logistics to become strong and cost-effective. With far-flung suppliers, often spread worldwide, logistics have become a specialized business and have moved from simple point-to-point transportation to comprehensive services, which include many variations as per clients’ requirements.
