As the population grows, Saudi Arabia is highly aware of the needs of its citizens and is taking measures to provide for their needs. The country has two advanced infrastructures with modern technologies to support them - roads and telecommunication networks. Although railways and ports are considered to be under-developed, they are still functional and provide sufficient service to the population of nearby cities. There is still room for improvement and development - for example, there is a need for a well-developed railway system and port for Saudi Arabia to become as competitive as other developed countries in Asia (Asia Trade Hub).

Much of the misconception that Saudi Arabia is a country which uses its wealth from oil to harbor terrorists has been the reason why Saudi Arabia has not been able to really market its natural and industrial resources. Part of the limitation is because the people of Saudi Arabia do not have the skill to dismiss the myth due to poor education level and limited exposure to the international community. To ameliorate this condition, integration of international curriculum into the local curriculum would help Saudis enter into the world and debunk the myth that Saudis are terrorists.

Schools like Dhahran Elementary Middle School and American International School have made great progress for an internationalized education system and can be used as the basis for developing education standards, quality and curriculum (US Department of State; ISG). Similarly, the perception that Saudi Arabia gets its wealth from natural oil reserves is only partly true. Economic indicators demonstrate that Saudi Arabia, along with other Gulf countries, have high gross domestic product (GDP) based on a non-oil estimation of 2002.

Saudi Arabia, for example, has a real non-oil GDP growth rate of approximately 2 % while Qatar has one of the highest GDPs of 6.8 % among Saudi Arabia, Kuwait,
