Life’s decisions determines ones career and signifies the pathway to be trod for the attainment of ones goal. Knowledge and work will determine my capacity to think and plan, dream and act. Further this proves my ability to make things and improve my lot. To augment my ability, I combine my creative energies with my healthy mind through which I understand and fashion the world which requires determination. I follow the art of treating everyone with genuine respect, contributing my share with dignity and diligence wherein the world of work would become a meeting of equals.

While I work and continue my quest for knowledge, at the same time through my actions and activities I try to attain fulfillment and will always remember that we are all worth infinitely more than the work our hands keep doing. I have established my set goals which are far greater than the established work.Construction Management for me is the study and practice of general management skills and the technological aspects pertaining to the construction industry. Imbibed into this construction management is my determination for management of design and management of the construction project which are designed within set parameters.

A construction company owned by my father has enabled me to learn and face everyday challenges. My précis of construction management is that the study of how projects are conceived, designed and built, the types of materials, the methods utilized, the techniques that estimate the cost of construction, construction accounting, safety requirements, project planning and project management. My studies in construction management would facilitate an increase in knowledge and combine proficiency to organize and manage activities and to develop my technical skills.

Such skills I can utilize in schedule activities and resources in construction and to enhance the industrial learning environment. Further construction management will develop my skills in leadership and teambuilding. My pattern would be to utilize the twin environment wherein my approach to the acquisition of knowledge, skill and competence will result from a highly sophisticated level of adopted strategies. My combination involves academic study combined with industrial application which would lead to a shared vision being achieved and thus creating a cutting edge in construction management.

My father’s construction company has empowered within me the progressive construction environment and the dynamics which are required to co-ordinate a range of technical skills. Further project work, presentations, role play, case studies and reports will be an added advantage for my skills and aptitude. I grew up looking at my role model-my father and how he worked and organized the company. During the site visits an awareness of cultural impact was kindled within me. I would learn and comprehend the various strategies utilized by my father in the adoption of the various techniques in construction.

From the studies in construction management I want to upgrade my resources, my organizational and leadership qualities and to further study and understand financial considerations as well as the risks involved. To further augment and develop my understanding and comprehension of quality management and create an awareness of environmental impacts through construction projects. In order to build my professional characteristics I need to learn and augment implementation of strategies, building project teams, understanding various projects and utilizing and implementing skills in selecting and building teams.

Assimilating, organizing, managing and by questioning I wish to acquire the required knowledge in construction. Trends and outlooks of every individual keep changing. Therefore through construction management I wish to learn about new products, building systems and management methods. Revisiting and reviewing the subjects learned will further increase my aptitude and output.As a student I look forward to learning and investigating the nature and working of projects that are built in the real world.

Implementation of the acquired knowledge in work and the stratagem espoused to get the required answers and combined with effectively conducting work among the team members. Studies in building and construction would develop specific skills in logical thinking, computing together with the ability to deal with complex technicalities and wider demands pertaining to a project. Further I want an in depth study and understanding of the various tools and processes that are required in planning and organizing the construction of a building.

My aim would be for total client satisfaction and transforming clients dream into reality at the same time providing advantages for the client by utilizing my abilities for a fast track project which would be time and money savings. From my father I have acquired and learnt about estimating construction costs, coordinating information and people. I wish to develop my ability in dealing with clients, builders and authorities. I want to gain a thorough knowledge and construct a concrete foundation in construction technology, management and control and make my father proud.
