To understand these causes of these changes a social research would be the best way. Sociology deals with the study of society in relation with the lives of human beings. To be precise, the analyses of changes that occur in the social structure and the effect of the changes in the lives of human beings can be understood from a sociological research. Sociology, observes Giddens, “is a field of study that consequently has a fundamental role to play in modern intellectual life” [Giddens 2006, p-4], which means that the study that helps us to determine the reasons of the changes occur.

As far as the field of sociological research is concerned, it helps us to have a deep insight into the practical problems that affect the society. Unlike a scientific or technical research, sociological research exclusively concentrates over the social implications of human beings and their lives with certain set of research analyses on what happened?, reasons behind a social problem, relationship between the individual or group of people with the problem etc. Gidden’s reveals the some of the advantages of sociological studies such as the experimentation of human behaviour of past, present and analytic prediction of the same in future etc.

However, sociology can be considered as scientific in many ways for example, it is the scientific study of social life of individuals or groups with the external influence of social factors such as economy, politics, public issues etc. But sociology appears to be on the advantageous side that that of science for example, Giddens [2006] and Poole [2006] observes sociology from the perspective of “empirical study” of understanding human society. While Poole [2006] observes from the perspective of contemporary society, Giddens observes in terms of general notions behind a social research.
