Personal Statement for UC in U.S.A - Admission/Application Essay Example

Computers have their own world of wonders that I want to discover. With the technology nowadays computers are really very useful. Their versatility helps us make our lives more comfortable. Say for example, for now, it is very possible for us to communicate around the globe with no charge at all. Be it on e-mail, chat, or live chat, it helps us find new friends, new opportunities all over the globe. I could just imagine how this was possible using the computer. It raised my curiosity to what more a computer can be used for.

What other features can a computer have to make it more useful in the future So, since I have a lot of questions that I want to be answered, I want to enroll in a course that can help me find answers to these questions that I have. I also want to discover my talent in programming and so I chose Computer Science to help me learn more about programming. I had this dream that one day I'd create a program that may help a lot of people in something. Programming for me is just like playing because you can actually create anything out of it.

So I also want to venture this field because it really helps a lot of people make complicated things simple. Say for example, statistical computations are made easier with some applications. Tabular forms of data can easily be done using programs present in the computer. This is also what I want to do in the future to create programs that may help, especially students, in doing their projects.Part of the activities and the lessons since my elementary grades discussed about computers. So ever since I was that young I was able to have a closer contact with computers and somehow step by step I learned some basic operations of computers.

My interest in computers grew and my interest was so great that I joined a computer club back in high school. Our computer club taught us basic programs and we tried to create some simple games such as puzzles and poker games. The club was more of a class because we also have our teacher that would help us in doing these basic programs. I also volunteered myself to work in a computer center still when I was in high school. I help in checking all computers in school to make sure they are functional and if they really are broken, I help in fixing them.

So in this way I was able to study the parts of the computer and the functions of each. I also learned how to troubleshoot these devices. At the computer center, I also help in organizing data like student information that are to be uploaded in the system. My background in computers then widened as I was in high school. I also experienced maintaining network server and created personal websites. This was quite of an experience. But these experiences only led toincrease my interest in computers.

I still wanted to learn more on how the system works. I want to learn more comprehensively about programming and how it works. I still want to discover the world of wonders inside the computer. As I already learned some troubleshooting and fixing steps, I still want to know more about these processes. I do really believe Computer Science would help me in this endeavor. I am really very eager to learn about computers from the simplest part to the most complex programming there is. Who knows in the future I might be able to have my own company producing computers.
