AFFECTS OF GLOBALISATION ON CHILDREN Childhood days are sweet for anyone who is innocent of any happening event. The part of life is the sweetest in the whole life. In the three stages of life childhood, youth and old age but period of childhood is the best one. If one misses out the part the bitter experiences make them age old than what they look. What they speak and what they do visualize the facts that they experience. Parental care Every small step the child takes all depends on the care and attention that parents pay. For a child a happy home is the heaven on the earth. It turns to the saddest part of life when they are left as orphans on the street for no fault of theirs. Parents are no able provide essentialities whether physically or mentally through all the corners of the world as the world is a small global village. Environment The surrounding environment to which the child gets exposed could mould their attitudes. And this can be highly influenced by globalisation through various options. Their communication levels, their capabilities, their positive traits and their negative qualities can be monitored, and rectified with all the security. Health hazards If a child has a special diseases and needs some group of blood or bone marrow or any thing else or any serious health query it can be placed on the net and it is a global news within no time and there is more than 90% of chance that the problem could be solved. An organization for drought hit children has opened site on the net to collect relief funds through email and it successfully collected lot of funds. But all this is possible only to those who are rich. What about the poor families who cannot afford a computer or have enough knowledge to help themselves to come out of the problematic situations So the globalisation is justifying only the rich and catering their needs. Health is wealth and the proverb is but for those who don't have wealth may die for medicine when seriously ill. Also World Health Organisation conducts health check-up camps and often helps out the needy. One thing can be appreciated; these camps have eradicated to a great extent as much as 90% the Polio among children by giving Polio drops freely to all. Present dreadful disease Aids, which is affecting children, are experiencing a very secluded life. The health camp organizations are providing them dormitories but still a global awareness is needed to protect children falling prey to such diseases that are infectious. Those who don't opt for family planning are providing very poor quality of life for their unlimited children. Education Standards Poor standard may result in a poor talent of the youth. So the young generation needs a good standard of education for them to shine in the fields that they are interested. They are kept in good disciplined and are imbibed good habits, a good friends circle and a good social life. But too much long hours of dedication towards school and study hours can be cause for their stress and strain that they don't deserve. Financial Access Those whose have a special interest for child's development can go for loans and other sources and schemes which are specially meant for children's education and marriage in insurance companies and trusts etc. and also some government policies for girl child's education and marriage. Modern technology Children use computers for video games with lot of interest and enthusiasm. And recently World Games Authorities, which conducts competitions annually. They also use Internet and many electronic toys, which needs some intelligence. Children are also given computer education right from the school days. Ideal childhood This is the period have no care and anxiety. They must get something to eat, something to wear and something to enjoy. Child hood is the best part of any ones life. One is the monarch and every one fall at the beck and call. The lovely tricks of childhood, the innocence, the obedient attitude, the devotion for parents, elders and gurus all come from a good family. And all these pleasures the prime of life shall never come back. An ideal childhood can lead to an ideal person. A sound body and a sound mind have to be nourished. When all the things permit and when there are no hurdles and when life is a pleasure they can follow the set of standards set globally. As the great leaders say children are the nations future. An ideal childhood is what most of the able parents would provide to their children but what about those who crave for that. So we can say all these things are for the lucky few and most of population of poorer countries unlucky. The rich countries are lending a helping hand to poor but the funds don't reach them instead gulped in between. An example can be quoted: In Africa there are diamond mines where children can only go within the mine and do the work. Some very famous organisations were sent to areas to protect the children from child labour but the organisations eaten away the funds and are exploiting the children making them their slaves according to an article in the news. So Ideal childhood can reach only to those who are well established in the society. International Legislation Some rules has be strictly formulated in the international legislatures for the betterment and rehabilitation of poor and homeless children which are followed by many countries some of the rules are like, minimum education for all food for all. Direct Financial Pressure Children who are subject to financial pressure are to take some big responsibilities of the family instead of enjoying the life. The have to forget every thing about themselves and money making becomes their soul aim of life. Or in some other cases they don't meet the ends by any means and such instances tends them to do some or the other small jobs here and there. With this financial pressure their way of thinking changes. Those who face financial problems at a tender age may sometimes even turn to thieves. Advertising It is weapon that can be used for any purpose with an intention or motive. The work the global organizations are doing and are willing to do is brought t everyone's notice by advertisement. A disadvantage to the poor Globalisation of childhood had penalized the poorer countries. It is not so advantageous to the poor as they don't connect themselves with any proper channel of communication globally with which they can mention or analyse their problems and situations to the world. But how much is the penalising the poor is justifiable. They are in no accessible and non-communicable and unreachable areas to the world. Power Differentiation The standards that are set are global but the thinking is not universal or global. The rich and the powerful nations doesn't does not mingle up with the poor. They set themselves in some rational boundaries. How can the semi rich and super power nations compare their life with other nations with the standards set for all. There inequality may rise for their development in a very luxurious manner. Child Labour Child labour is very strictly abolished but still in many countries and in many places like factories, industries etc., children are employed to work for a very less wages. And like this their future gets ruined in those working areas. Those innocent faces with small hands working hard to earn a living instead of going school is really very cruel and every social human being must pay some attention and by informing the authorities they can to some extent eradicate the child labour, and give them some life. Child abuse Children are incarnation of God. Abusing children is as abusing God. The age in which their thoughts and words are too bended to a nice shape if they are abused for simply they are small the may turn wild, rough hard and may become rowdy sheeters. Some can bare or very few can bear and who cannot do all the wrong things to forget the pain and may become the personalities, which the society hates, and treat like insects. At the age when their character has to mould to a responsible citizen in those formative years they need exclusive care and attention. And when the elder people are at fault they can be showcased in the news desk by interfering of related persons. Street Children Street children are the least bothered. They are not dressed properly, no education, no food, they are bound to become as bad as they can be. They may do anything which wind pushes them to. Such children must by caressed by the government of the respected countries coz they may harm the nation when they grow up. Some times they don't even have names. It's very pity. Early years of education It is very important what we enter in their minds. Since the first impression is the last impression and last impression. So a lot of care has to be taken for them not to keep wrong things in their minds. What we feed them they only comes out. So, they to get a prudent and selfless attitude and some good traits they need to be nursed well with all care and responsibility to make good adults. In most of the countries for any small thing researches are being conducted regarding children's psychology health and anything glories. So all these data is required to know about one need to be connected globally. This is the changing trend of life in the recent past as in the earlier years children were just left off play jack and Jill games with another children. But now children are paid more attention than any one else. All of their time is strictly scheduled as for coaching; sports, extra curricular activities and the schools are coming up with global education format through information systems and technologies. It can be any moderate in come family, but if the child is not provided a system in the home, he is considered as poor. So now for any child it education has become global education. Children now a days know very well what they want what to wear, where from to get and how to get. They don't depend on elders any more. They very particularly mention so and so costumes they want to wear to look trendy from so and so shop ex: KIDSWEAR etc., They browse, search and mail and acquire the knowledge about many things. And more over, any one who have special talents and skills like ex: child who is 4 months old is performing exercises, (it can be prenatal education) by which the parents were perplexed. 1. A child who is 4 years old is driving a car by the help of some pillows. 2. A child who is 6 years old is take pictures with camera 3. Some children get attracted to art and music at a very tender age and show extra ordinary skills etc., References Eric V. Edmonds and Nina Pavcnik. The Effect of Trade Liberalisation on Child Labour.
