Running head: Understanding the motivation of travelers on repeat visits to Thailand Understanding the motivation of travelers on repeat visits to Thailand In APA Format Abstract There are many beautiful countries in the world and traveling for some people is passion, a lot of importance and preference is given by people on traveling. It is considered to be sort of a relaxation and people travel all across the globe in pursuit of that relaxation which they are looking for. One of the most visited places by the tourists is without a doubt Thailand, situated in Asia, Thailand is one of the most amazing countries, full of beautiful atmosphere and the best part is the tourists find it an amazing destination to be at, this is what brings them back for more. There are various reasons for what exactly tempts the travelers to come back to Thailand over and over again and this paper will discuss exactly that. Background Information Thailand is an extremely popular country for its culture, nature, cuisine, hospitality and world class accommodation and that too at a very reasonable price. But this is the present scenario, the country boasts of a rich history too. The country boasts of the two most amazing heritage sites by the name Sukhothai and Ayutthaya, the same attracts millions of visitors every year. The temples in the country also form a major attraction, so moany people come from various places to catch a glimse of various temples in Thailand. The tourists also get the luxury of riding Elephants while they see various temples in the country, this simplifies their work and it is a very big luxury which is being provided by the people of the country. There are many Wildlife Sanctuaries in the country, these Sanctuaries also attract a lot of people and three Wildlife Sanctuaries have been identified by UNESCO and the same were also declared the world heritage sites, those three Wildlife Sanctuaries are Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary, Huai Kha Kaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, and Khao Yai National Park. These centuries attract many visitors from all across the globe. People who love travelling always visit Thailand over and over again for more reasons than one. One of the biggest attractions which the country offers are the beaches in the country and people enjoy various activities on these beaches such as canoeing, snorkelling, scuba diving, yachting, hiking, and golfing. The resorts in Thailand have some of the most amazing beaches in the world and the same is a very big temptation for all the travellers. Purpose of the study The main purpose of this study is to find out what makes the travelers visit the country again and again. The facilities and the comforts provided to the travelers is amazing, Thailand offers some of the most unbelievable comforts and luxuries to the travelers. The country has many five star hotels besides that the country also provides the travelers with various options for accommodation like bungalows located right in front of the beach at affordable prices, this is one of the biggest reasons, why Thailand attracts so many travelers. It is real fun to stay in the country and the best thing is that it all comes at reasonable prices, what else a person can ask for. Thailand is also very popular and widely visited because it is also the right place to do shopping, the stores in the country offered up to 80% discounts during the Amazing Thailand Grand Sales promotion. To make sure that the country sustains the inflow of travellers it is very important to understand the motive of the travellers, they should not only come once to the country but also over and over again and for this to happen the concerned people of the country have to understand the motive of the travellers. When the concerned people design promotional material to attract the travellers it is extremely important to keep in mind their motive of travelling, if that is ignored then no traveller will come again to that particular country. Motivation is very closely connected to the consistency theory, and the consisitency theory states that when an individual is travelling or for that matter doing anything, he/she expects consistency, to be more clear no unexpected events should take place during the individual travel. If anything unexpected takes place then that individual will think twice before revisiting the country. Motivation has a very strong connections with the needs and the goals of an individual. There are several factors which affect motivation to travel some of the most important are push and pull factors, push factors are nothing but internal drives that compell human beings to travel and go in for a change, this factor forces the individual to get away form the routine and have a good change to break the monotony. On the other hand the pull factor is all about the attractiveness of a place that a traveller visits, pull factor triggers off when an individual looks at advertisement and marketing of any sort. This is why the right kind of marketing is imperative, it helps in attracting people and motivating them fianally to go on an adventurous trip or a similar kind of a trip. Both these factors influence the travelling decision of an individual. Methodology Methodology is basically a method of studying or finding about something, here with the use of the information it can easily be made out why the travelers repeatedly visit Thailand. The country has something exceptional and something which is not found elsewhere, this is the only reason why people revisit the country and another big reason is also that the concerned people design appropriate marketing material to attract travelers who come for the first time to the country. "Univariate and Multivariate statistical procedure was used to analyze the data. First, descriptive statistics were run to determine frequency distribution. Second, the independent sample mean i-test was performed to determine the mean difference of the travel motivation between repeat and first time travelers. Third, an exploratory factor analysis was performed to identify the underlying dimensions of the travel motivation. It was also used to construct summated scales for subsequent analysis. Fourth, One Way Analysis of Variance was performed to determine the mean difference of the travel motivation among travelers with different demographic profiles. Finally, Logistic Regression was employed to determine the impact of the travel motivation on the likelihood of travelers to revisit Thailand." ( Understanding the motivation of travelers, 11 September 2008). Extensive research was done and a census was taken, the census was on the topic, whether or not the travellers would revisit Thailand and it was found that almost 90% of the people reached an unanimous opinion that they would revisit Thailand. This goes to show that there will certainly be further development in the country and the travellers will keep having the time of thier life. Study Findings "The means and standard deviations for travel motivations are presented in Table 1. The travel motivation attributes ranged from the highest mean score of 3.86 to the lowest mean score of 2.88. The scores were clustered around 1 standard deviation. The major factors that would motivate travelers to revisit Thailand were ' seeing people from different cultures', 'interesting cultural and historical attractions', 'a trip to Thailand worth the value for the money', Overall affordability', 'friendliness of Thai people', and 'natural attractions'. On the other hand, the majority of the respondents said that 'adult entertainment', 'visiting friends and relatives', 'golfing', and 'Thai boxing' would not be the motivation for them to revisit Thailand." ( Understanding the motivation of travelers, 11 September 2008). Study findings comes up with what exactly intrigues the travellers to come over and over aging to Thailand, prostitution is one of the biggest attractions as far as adult entertainment is concerned. Prostitution is widely spread in the country and the travellers don't mind that at all and indulge in it. Another major attraction is Boixing, the sport is extremely popular in the country, better known as Thai boxing, the sport is very curiously followed by the people of Thailand. Conclusion Implication and the reflection part is included in this part, may people who came to Thailand for the first time assured that they would revisit the country for its food and its short distance. A study goes on to show that Asian people are less motivated than the European by cultural attraction, considering this it is easy to make out that most of the travelers who come to Thailand are mainly European people, some of them come to the country mainly because of their cultural attraction towards other people while the others come there to relax and break the chain of monotony. The country is a very beautiful country and has all the qualities to attract travelers and to make them revisit, this is because most of the travelers find the country very interesting but they run short of time and decide that they would surely revisit the country in the near future. This happens because the country has so much to offer to the travelers in any field, be it adult entertainment or the beautiful temples and beaches.
