Family Culture as a Tradition or Set of Rules - Essay Example

            Family culture is a phrase that can be best illustrated as a tradition, set of rules, activities, or even beliefs that a family shares together. These values are taught to the youngsters of a family and thus these get passed on to the next generation. However, it depends on how that generation reciprocates those ideas. This is why one may find a strong sense of ethnicity in some families of the same cultural group, while families may be lenient towards them. For example, my family is a patriarchal family which is headed by my father, Mr. Albert Lopez who teaches us discipline and decorum as well.

            Again family culture breaks down roles for its family members my father plays the role of a breadwinner in the family. As for my mother, she plays the role of a mother to me as a good wife. She usually goes to meet my teachers in case of a parent-teacher meeting. So it can be deduced that a properly cultured family will have well-defined gender role plays that would not clash with each other in the long run.
